Specially-abled girl raped, Nowshera police arrested accused from Jammu.

RAJOURI, JUNE 08:–The Nowshera police in Rajouri district under the overall supervision of Mohammad Aslam, SSP have arrested the accused from Jammu in connection with the alleged rape of a specially-abled girl.
The accused has been identified as Sham Sunder son of Jeet Kumar resident of Laroka in Tehsil Qila Darhal in the Nowshera sub-district in the Rajouri district.
On Friday the family of the victim falling under the jurisdiction of the Bhawani police post (Nowshera police station) lodged a complaint against the accused.
Taking sensitivity of the matter, the police booked the accused under sections 376/506 IPC and 4/6 POCSO Act (FIR No.122/2022) and the investigation was set into motion.
During the initial investigation the police came to know that the accused has fled from the area after committing the crime and is evading arrest.
“Looking gravity of the case, a special team comprising of SHO Nowshera, Rajesh Jasrotia and In-charge Police Post Bhawani, sub-inspector (probationer) Rajat Sharma was framed which started manhunt of the accused and multiple raids were conducted in areas of Rajouri district and in Jammu also,” said SSP.
On Wednesday, the police team succeeded in the arrest of the accused during a raid in Bari Brahmna area near Jammu. The accused involved in this heinous crime has been brought to Rajouri and put behind the bars for further legal formalities.
District Rajouri police took the case on the priority and a special squad worked hard to nab the accused.
“After professional investigation and completion of all the formalities, this case shall be challaned for judicial determination and exemplary punishment to the accused,” said the police.
