GDC Handwara organizes World Bicycle day

HANDWARA JUNE 03:–The Sports department of Govt Degree College Handwara on Friday organized World Bicycle Day Under Azadi ka Amrit Mahautsav.

The race was flagged-off by Prof.Dilruba Rasool Principal GDC Handwara at 07:00 am in presence of teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. The race was started from Main Chowk Langate and culminated at Govt Degree College Handwara.

In the Event Yawer Kabir Shah of 5th Sem bagged 1st position, .Vikas Ahmad of 2nd Sem and Showkat Ahmed Dar of 5th Sem secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Adequate and elaborate arrangements were made by the Sports Committee of the college to make the event a memorable and a successful one with the help of Health department.

Later, the prize distribution ceremony was held at college campus where the first, second and third position holders were awarded trophies and medals by Principal GDC Handwara and senior faculty members along with Convener Sports Committee of the college.

Principal of the college applauded the efforts of Convener Sports Prof Ishfaq Abdullaha Rather and NCC Officer Prof Jamsheed Zarger , NSS Officer Prof Feroz Ah Tantray and Senior Faculty members Prof Mohd Iqbal Darzi, Prof Faiz Ah, Prof Irfan Wagay ,Prof Muzaffar Ah Lone for making the event a successful one. She also praised the efforts of Health department in smooth conduct of the programme.
