RAJOURI, JUNE 02:–National Cadet Corps (NCC) boys & girls wings of Government PG College Rajouri on Wednesday organised a cleanness drive under Puneet Sagar Abhiyan in Bela colony of Rajouri Township under the guidance of Commanding Officer, 5 J&K BN NCC (Poonch).
About 200 NCC cadets from different institutions, including the Government PG College, boys’ higher secondary school, and Delhi Public School took part in the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan.
A massive rally was also organised on this occasion in which Associate NCC officers, cadets, youth, and members of civil society participated and raised slogans while holding placards for the awareness and involvement of people at large.
A special cleanliness drive of water bodies was also organized in the said area and large-scale waste materials including polyethylene were removed from the area.
The program was coordinated by Capt. Tanwir Ahmed, Associate NCC Officer Rajouri, and Prof. Salma, NCC Officer Girl’s wing.
Those who actively cooperated in the event include Waseem Bari, Anita Thakur, PI staff of NCC of J&K BN.
In keeping with the vision of the Prime Minister, NCC has initiated a nationwide flagship campaign ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, to clean water bodies, including rivers and rivulets, of plastic and other waste material.
The aim of the ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’ campaign is to increase awareness about the importance of keeping clean water bodies, rivers, rivulets etc.
