Awareness campaign of Traffic police among NSS volunteers in Jammu

JAMMU, MAY 28 :–Traffic Police City Jammu has launched a traffic safety awareness campaign among the NSS Volunteers to make the roads safer for drivers, riders and commuters in the Jammu city.

Besides, directing the officers/officials to sensitize people about the traffic rules and regulations to save precious human lives from accidents, Dr Koshal Sharma JKPS, SSP Traffic Jammu, urged the NSS Volunteers and people to take special care and precautions to ensure safety of the most vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, children, elderly and the differently able persons while driving or riding Motor Vehicle.

Raj pal Singh Addl SP, Traffic Police Jammu said, “Instead of enforcing the Traffic law strictly, people should voluntarily obey the Traffic Rules to save lives.”

“To be a good Samaritan always helps the road side accident victims and never use a mobile phone while driving,” said Ms Farah Nishat, DySP Traffic City North Jammu.
The activities include holding of Awareness camps for drivers of mini buses, cars and riders of two-wheelers at RS Pura, Satwari, Narwal, Gole Market, Bikram Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Vivekanand Chowk, Talab Tillo Chowk, Ambphalla, Janipur, Indira Chowk, Kachi Chawni, Parade, Nagrota, Akhnoor etc.

Moreover, SSP Traffic Jammu appeals to the peoples to adhere to all traffic Rules and documents of the vehicle must be updated like HSRP (High Security Registration Number Plate) and make a habit of wearing safety belt and crash helmet for their safety and larger interest of their family.
