UDHAMPUR MAY 19:-– Continuing efforts of strengthening police public relation and to spread awareness about the working of Police among the students and youth, Udhampur Police organised a youth awareness programme in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur.
The event was organised on the direction of SSP Udhampur, Dr. Vinod Kumar and under the supervision of Additional SP Udhampur, Anwaar Ul Haq and DySP HQ Sahil Mahajan.
SHO Women Police Station, Insp. Isha Mahajan made aware the students about the working of police stations, nature of crime, legal disposal and also made them aware about the issues including road safety, merit and demerits of social media, cyber crimes, online frauds etc
The lady officer also highlighted the role of parents and said that parents have a greater responsibility in social development of a child as they act as the first teacher and guides for their wards.
While Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Devika Sharma, Drug Councellor ( Drug De-addiction centre DPL Udhampur) stressed on the importance of reaching out to the youth to educate them about the menace of alcohol, drugs and substance abuse.
She also said that drug abuse has become a major social concern and students has become very vulnerable to fall into the trap while also urging upon the school management and teachers to pay more attention towards children and take proactive steps to prevent the students from the menace to avoid grave disaster of drug addiction.
Besides, Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur and other officials also highlighted the causes and consequences of drug abuse and assured their possible support and also appreciated Udhampur Police for such initiatives for complete eradication of drugs from the society.
