RAJOURI MAY 15:--During his maiden visit to Rajouri, Principal Secretary School Education Department Bishwajit Kumar Singh, IFS inaugurated a newly constructed School building costing Rs 1.19 Crores under UT capex along with a Smart Study Space cum reading room established under the project Samagra Shiksha*, at Govt Girls Model HSS Rajouri, amidst galaxy of towering officers including *Vikas Kundal, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma Director School Education Jammu, Er. Deep Raj, Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Pawan Kumar, Addl. District Dev. Commissioner, Sachin Dev Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Bilal Mir Deputy Director Planning Samagra Shiksha, Shailash Kumari Chief Education Officer, Hameeda Begum Principal DIET and Abdul Rauf Dar, Principal Girls Model Hr. Secondary*. 

B. K Singh* also visited the only functional, fully equipped and well-furnished Girls hostel of the institution and expressed his satisfaction and gratitude with all the amenities made available for girl students. He also interacted with the inmates of the Hostel and inspected the Mess Services being provided to them. He also enquired about the mode of study, adopted by the Students and advised to improve the same, with evening sessions as well.

He also took a round of the newly constructed building and Study space, which  is first of its kind established under Samagra Shiksha in any of the Govt. Institutions, having seating capacity for 44 Girls and expressed satisfaction over the quality of work. On this momentous occasion, *the host Principal Abdul Raouf Dar*,  officers from education department , faculty members and girl students of the school warmly greeted the guests with garland of flowers.

Later, an interactive session was also organised in the school and shawls and mementoes were presented to the distinguished guests, as a token of love and respect.

During the interactive Session, Abdul Raouf Dar Principal, welcomed and highlighted the variegated issues being faced by the public education sector in the  region and also  emphasised in detail the achievements of the institution both in academics and infrastructure development during his tenure. He also thanked *Poject Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj,* for extending full support and co-operation for the successful completion of innovative projects and *Dr. Ravi Shanker DSE Jammu*, for providing ample infrastructure in the school from time to time.

Speaking on the occasion, *Vikas Kundal District Dev. Commissioner Rajouri* thanked Principal Secretary, for putting School Education Department on vibrant mode. He also appreciated the efforts of School Education Department in the recent enrolment drive held all over the UT. *Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma*, Director School  Education Jammu thanked B K Singh for bringing a revolution in the education sector with his mega initiatives and appreciated his immense contribution.  He also appreciated the sincere and dedicated efforts of Mr Abdul Raouf Dar for translating these projects from paper to ground.

While speaking on the occasion, *Deep Raj Project Director Samagra Shiksha*, appreciated the vision and dynamism of *B K Singh PS SED* for achieving the lofty goal of quality education. He also reiterated that he would continue to provide all sorts of assistance for ensuring quality infrastructure in the academic institutions even in the remotest areas of the UT of JK and stressed for improving the academic standard along with the Infrastructure upgradtion. He highlighted the various interventions being made through Samagra Shiksha and asked the Teaching fraternity to make best use of available resources. He also said that, Principal GHSS Rajouri is brand ambassador for operationalization of Girls Hostels.

 In his presidential address, *B K Singh Principal Secretary School Education Department* appreciated the endeavours of both directorates, DSE Jammu and Samagra Shiksha for their continuous effort in face lifting and infrastructure development of the public education institutions. He also patted the back of Abdul Raouf Dar in making the institution a real hub of educational excellence especially for the girl students. While interacting with all the stakeholders the faculty, students and education officers of the district, the chief guest advised them to adopt innovative and experiential method for making teaching-learning more meaningful and effective. He also urged them to get ready for the successful implementation of NEP 2020 so that its goal of producing qualitative and skilled human resource can be achieved. He said the creation of public infrastructure and providing facilities to the students at their doorsteps is the priority of the School Education Department. He said that, this year Schools are being saturated with 100 % facilities and mode of providing Quality education is being shifted to Digital mode. Smart Class Rooms are being developed and this year, *28 Girls Hostels shall be made functional, where 2800 Girls shall get Residential facilities*. He said the capacity building of Teachers shall be done, where there shall be Gaps and Department is trying to ensure that, every Student of Govt. Schools should stand at par with the Students of Private Schools. He also said that, to ensure the Transparency in the system, *Annual Transfer Drive has been launched*, where Teaching fraternity may apply while sitting at home and the system is being run without human intervention, which is being accepted by one and all. He stressed for Sports Infastructure in Schools, like Bedminton, Basket Ball Court etc besides indoor Games.

Earlier in the Morning, *B.K Singh also visited the HSS Pragwal* in Jammu District, where he inaugurated the School Building consisting of 8 Rooms with Project Cost of Rs.66 Lacs and interacted with the Students of the School, especially Students of Kindergarten. B.K Singh was accompanied by Driector School Education Jammu, Project Director Samagra, Parshotam Sharma, Joint Director Planning, Suraj Singh Rathore, CEO Jammu, Ravinder Singh DD Planning besides other officers.He impressed upon all the Teaching staff, for providing of Quality education to Students. He also distributed kits to Students. *Taking advantage of the Land available with the School, he issued directions for plantation of saplings and said that each student shall plant at least 5 Nos of Saplings. He appreciated the Principal  Mrs. Nitu Gandotra and Staff for taking various initiatives to improve the educational system*.  

Enroute Rajouri, *Princpial Secretary was received by Addl. Deputy Commissioner Vinod Behnel and Chief Education Officer Shalaish Kumari at sunderbani, where he also met* with the PRIs including BDC chairpersons Arun Sharma, Sarpanches and prominent citizens at Sunderbani.

Late evening, the Principal Secretary also inspected the underconstruction building at *Govt. HSS Boys Rajouri, besides interaction with the Staff* of the School.

*Principal Secretary also met the Members of PRIs* at Dakbangalow including Iqbal Malik, DDC Member Darhal, Qayoom Mir, DDC Member Thanamandi, Ch. Darbar, Adv. Khaliq Firdouse, BDC Cahirperson Rajouri & Qila Darhal, Subhash Sharma, Retd. ADDC, Mohd Saleem, Convenor, Samreen Khan, Sarpanch Manjakote & several other deputations, wherein listened their grievances and assured timely redressal.    

The programme was conducted by *Md. Muslim Wani, Senior Lecturer in Physics*, besides this *Rakesh Sharma, Principal HSS Boys, Tanveer Ahmed, HoD DIET, Riyaz Malik, Principal HSS Moughla, Shahid Qureshi Sr. Lecturer, Er. Sanjeev Gupta, Samagra Shiksha, Yousaf Lodhi, AE, Er. Zuhaib Shawl*, along with Engineers from R&B Department, Teaching cum Non-Teaching Staff of various Schools, were prominent among others who remained present.
