Health Block Kandi organises medical-cum-certificate camp in remote area

RAJOURI, MAY 13:–With an aim to provide access to high-quality healthcare services to the poor and marginalised people at their doorsteps in far-flung areas, a mega health camp was organised by Health Department Kotranka at Village Badal in Kotranka sub-district in Rajouri district on Thursday.
The event was organised under the direction of Director Health Services, Jammu Dr. Saleem Ur Rahman and guidance of Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri.
The event was supervised by Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr.Iqbal Malik and hundreds of people participated and availed benefits free of cost.
Ayushman Bharat- SEHAT Golden Cards were issued by a team.
“In addition to general medical check-ups and treatment, the doctors also provided services such as Dental, eye check-ups, etc. Laboratory services including sputum examination were also available on the spot” said Dr.Iqbal Malik.
Medical screening of non-communicable diseases (NCD) like hypertension and diabetes was conducted by a team of doctors, he added.
All medicines were available free of cost to the public, including allopathic and AYUSH medicine.
The public was also given awareness about various health schemes of the government, such as ABHA digital Health ID, telemedicine facilities, SEHAT card etc. Mohd Ayoub Lone CHO Kandi delivered a lecture for this purpose.
The Health Team also visited Govt School Badal for general medical check-up and screening of the students.
Students were also given information about proper hand washing techniques, maintaining hygiene and benefits of a balanced diet.
“The Medical Board constituted for issuing medical certificates issued 125 medical fitness certificates, 30 labour certificates, 7 widow certificates and 2 illness certificates to the beneficiaries” said BMO.
