KUPWARA MAY 09:–Blood donation for transfusion is a vital step in the management of many clinical problems, with the two primary indications being anemia and acute blood loss. Blood donation itself is also used to primarily treat a small subset of medical conditions. At the beginning of the 20th century, Karl Landsteiner identified ABO blood groups, at which time blood typing of individuals was only beginning to be adopted as a universally standard practice.

As part of their undying commitment towards betterment and security of Kashmiri Awam, Indian Army soldiers donated 105 units of blood to the Kupwara district hospital.

The team of Blood Bank officials from Kupwara District Hospital appreciated the gesture of selfless service in helping the needy with this noble gesture.

In yet another instance, Indian Army has proved that they are always in forefront be it guarding the borders, fighting terrorism or lending a helping hand in serving the community.
