RAJOURI APRIL 21:–Rescuing eight animals from the vehicle, police in Rajouri foiled a bovine smuggling bid and seized the vehicle used in the crime besides arrest of accused driver.
Police said that in the wee morning hours on Thursday, a team of police headed by Incharge Police Post Chingus Chatyar, PSI Sahil Chowdhary was on regular patrolling in the area of jurisdiction when a Tata mobile vehicle was intercepted which was moving on a road.
The vehicle with registration number JK11E 2441 was found driven by Mohd Gafoor son of Mohd Bashir resident of Bhattian Thanamandi and was found loaded with eight bovine animals.
The animals were tied with with ropes in an improper and very cruel manner without food and water and there was no requisite permission with the driver.
In this connection, cognizance has been taken under relevant sections of law in police station and investigation is going on.
