Army inaugurates 3 months long CTC & also organised blood donation camp.

Rajouri, March 16 :–Under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division, a three-month-long Carpentry Training Center (CTC) was inaugurated at the Ghambhir Brahmana village while a blood donation camp for the Blood Bank of Associated Hospital & Government Medical College (AH&GMC) was also organised at Army’s Advance Landing Ground (ALG) by the Ace of Spades Gunners.
Giving the details about the Gurcharan Singh Carpentry Training Centre, Lt Col Davender Anand, PRO Defence said: “This unique initiative undertaken by Bhimber Gali Brigade is aimed at Indian Army’s impetus on skill development and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth of the remote villages of Rajouri District”.
‘Carpentry Training Center was inaugurated by Maj Gen Rajeev Puri, GOC Ace of Spades Division on Wednesday and was set up in collaboration with Industrial Training Institute (ITI) with the active support of the District Administration.
“Gurcharan Singh Carpentry Training Centre will provide an opportunity to the youth from remote villages to get quality training close to their homes and thus support the self-employment and entrepreneurship initiative of the Government,” said Maj Gen Rajeev Puri.
This initiative of the Indian Army will facilitate the local youth in getting formally trained in carpentry skills and will be able to earn an honourable living.
The local populace, including the Sarpanch of Gambhir Brahmana village, expressed their gratitude to the Army for this initiative.
Brig Vikas Salathia, Commander, BG Brigade; Mohammad Aslam, SSP Rajouri; Pawan Parihar, Additional DDC Rajouri, Sarpanchs of villages Gambhir and Panjgrain along with ex-servicemen and locals were present during the opening ceremony of the center.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday Ace of Spades Gunners organised a Blood Donation initiative for the Blood Bank of AH&GMC Rajouri at ALG Rajouri.
A large number of volunteers from the civil populace and the soldiers came forward to donate the blood About 155 units of blood were donated with the technical help of the staff from Associated Hospital & Government Medical.
This initiative was undertaken immediately, when the Indian Army received intimation about depleted bloodstock at the blood bank, Rajouri.
The Indian Army swung into action, mobilising its own resources as well as the support of the volunteers from the civil society. Indian Army always stands committed to the Awam.
Dr.Mehmood Hussain Bajar, Medical Superintendent, AH&GMC denied the shortage of blood in the blood bank.
