Govt decides to close One Time Settlement Scheme for DPs of 1947 & Chhamb.Left out beneficiaries asked to avail benefit before 10th February 2022.

RAJOURI JANUARY 29:–The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has decided to close the scheme of Central Assistance for one-time settlement of Displaced Families from Pakistan Occupied J&K (PoJK) and Chhamb under Prime Minister’s Development Package-2015.
According to Government Notice issued on January 24, the Government has asked left out eligible beneficiaries, if left, may submit the claim in the office of respective Designated Authorities.
The left out beneficiaries can also file their claims in the ‘special camps’ being organised by the Deputy Commissioners/ PRO on 31st January & 7 February (2022).
The Notice reads: “No claim shall be entertained after 10th of February 2022”.
The Government of J&K notified the scheme approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI for the rehabilitation package of PoJK Displaced Persons (DPs) of 1947& Chhamb (DPs) of 1965 &1971 in terms of Govt order No. 22-DMRR7Rof 2017 followed by Govt order No.7-JK(DMRRR) of 2019read with corrigendum dt 11.12.2019 & Govt order No. 20-JK (DMRRR) of 2020 (10,2,2020).
The scheme envisages Rs5.5 lakh of financial assistance to each family settled within the erstwhile State of J&K belongs to any of categories including DPs of PoJK in 1947, DPs of Chhamb in 1965 & 1971 (camps/non-camps), and those left out DPs families of PoJK 1947 who initially opted to move outside the erstwhile State of J&K but later returned & settled back.
The Notice further reads: “Almost the entire number of families has been covered under this scheme; the Government has decided to bring the scheme to a closure”.
“Now, therefore, though the medium of this notice, all Displaced Persons of PoJK of 1947 & Chhamb 1965 & 1971, presently settled in the UT of J&K are hereby notified that in view of the impending closure of the scheme, eligible beneficiaries who have not yet filed his/her claim may submit the same in the office of respective Designated Authorities & also in the Special Camps being held by the DCs/PRO on January 31 & February 7 (2022).
