Rajouri. January 06:– Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouris’ Kotranka sub division foiled a narcotics smuggling bid and arrested two person in the case.
District Police Rajouri said that in an action against people involved in narcotics smuggling bid, Police team of police station Kandi headed by SHO Kandi Habib Pathan foiled a narcotics smuggling bid in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kandi and arrested two person with Poppy Straw like substance.
Police said that during routine checking at naka near indoor stadium Kotranka, Police party of PS Kandi on signalled two pedestrians to stop who on seeing police party started acting suspiciously and tried to flee.
” Acting swiftly police party intercepted them and on questioning they disclosed their identity as Javid Iqbal son of Kalu resident of Gurha Sarkari, Kotranka and Mohd Shafiq son of Ghulam Hussain resident of Gurha Sarkari Kotranka.
During checking Poppy Straw like substance weighing (approximately) 04 kilograms was recovered from them.
Both the accused have been arrested after completing all legal formalities and further investigation and legal proceedings are going on.
In initial investigation, duo accused person confessed that they were illegally transporting the substance for sale among local Youth.
In this connection a case FIR 03/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Kandi and investigation has been started.
The arrest was made by police team under the supervision of Deputy SP PC, Imtiaz Ahmed and overall supervision of AdSP Rajouri Vivek Shekhar Sharma.
SSP Rajouri Mohammad Aslam said that action on Anti Narcotics front is a prime priority of police in Rajouri district with an aim to check spread of this menace in society and to take legal action against those involved in the crime.
