RAJOURI NOVEMBER 27:— In a rare & first of its kind incident at Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner (who is also District Magistrate) was not allowed to enter the Rajouri police station for about one and half hours as the gates were closed reportedly on the directions from senior officers.
Why & what for District Magistrate ants to visit the police station, for that no senior official /officer, including DC, responded to the quarries by the scribes.
However, reliable sources said that District Magistrate along with Additional DC and Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) wanted to take stock of the functioning inside the police station may be after some complaints.
Officials/officers at the Police Station were informed well before the visit of the Deputy Commissioner and other senior officers, sources added.
But when the cavalcade of the Deputy Commissioner reached the police station, the gate was found closed despite the fact that the gate remain to be open 24X7 hours for the general public.
According to local reporters who were live on FaceBook/news portals and other social media platforms reported that Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan; ADC & ACR remained sitting inside their official vehicle along with other civil officers/officials for about two hours.
Later, Additional SP, Vivek Shekhar reached the spot and accompanied District Magistrate (DM) inside the police station.
Sources said as it was already late by about two hours, so DM had a brief stay inside the police station and left for his residence.
Who was responsible for this unwanted incident and for what reasons the DM forced to stay outside the gate for such a long time, is a matter of detailed investigatmmion, if initiated.
However, the incident has brought a bad name to the district.

There are media reports mentioning that DC Rajouri was made to wait for an hour outside Rajouri police station.
Facts are clarified to remove misinterpretation.
DC Rajouri intended to visit the Police Station to review functioning and facilities in the Anti Human Trafficking unit at the Police Station and to enquire about the welfare of policemen.However on reaching the police station gate was found closed from inside.
Since the district SSP was on leave and the DIG was out of station, he called up the Addl SP Vivek Shekhar (In- Charge SSP Rajouri) and brought the matter in his notice. Since the Addl SP was in field it took around 20-25 minutes to reach and the DC had to wait till his arrival.
Thereafter the officers visited the police station. The Dc was also accompanied by two ADMs. The DC instructed ADM and Add Sp to make round of the premises and take best possible measures for the welfare of jawans and further asked for carrying out some repairs in the police station.The DC also appreciated the role of police in counter terror operations in the past and their continuous efforts to track the recently infiltrated group.He further lauded the role of Add SP Headquarter for his people friendly approach and professionalism.
