RAJOURI NOVEMBER 03:--According to the Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate the festival of lights with soldiers at a forward location somewhere in the Nowshera sector in Rajouri district of UT of J&K.
Since taking the office in 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been celebrating Diwali with soldiers at forward locations.
Earlier in 2019, he had celebrated the festival of Diwali with the soldiers along LoC in the Rajouri district.
On October 30 Lt Rishi Kumar of Bihar and Sepoy Manjit Singh of Punjab had attained martyrdom in a suspicious mine blast along LoC in Kalal area in the Nowshera sector.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to Nowshera on November 4, hectic activities were witnessed at Rajouri and Chief of Army Staff, General M.M. Naravane carried out aerial reconnaissance of the forward areas in Rajouri-Poonch districts.
It was the Army Chief’s second visit to forward areas. Earlier on October 19in the backdrop of the ongoing Counter Terrorist Operation in Nar Khas forest in Mendhar, where three soldiers & a JCO have attained martyrdom, COAS visited the forward areas & undertook a firsthand assessment of the security situation along the LoC.
Border districts of Poonch and Rajouri have been a hotspot of terror-related activities in the recent past.
In the year 2019 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had celebrated festival of lights with soldiers at Ace of Spades Division HQ at Rajouri in J&K.
Accompanied by the then General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief, the Prime Minister flew to Rajouri and had spent more than two hours at Division HQ where he interacted with the senior Army Commanders deployed in Rajouri and Poonch district.
After landing at Rajouri, PM had paid homage to the martyrs of Rajouri-Poonch districts including civilians at Hall of Fames.
The Prime Minister addressed the soldiers gathered at Raina Stadium inside the Division HQ and had praised the soldiers for their velour that lead the government to take impossible decisions.
Prime Minister had also spoken at length on India’s airstrikes on a JeM terror camp in the Balakot sector in PoJK in response to Pulwama attack in which 49 CRPF personnel had sacrificed their lives.
He had also spoken on the necessity of abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A provisions.
