Handwara October 22:–A mega Annual Training Camp (ATC) culminated today in Rajwar Sector, Kupwara district . The camp was organised by 3 J&K Battalion NCC, Baramulla under aegis of NCC Group Headquarter, Srinagar and NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in coordination with the Nagradnar Army Camp.
It is pertinent to highlight here that this is the first ever NCC camp conducted in the insurgency hit hinterland belt of North Kashmir in which 110 Senior Division and Junior Division Cadets participated* in the Annual Training Camp organised at Nagradnar village in Handwara from 16th to 22nd October. NCC Cadets belonging to schools and colleges of Uri, Kupwara, Handwara, Langate, Sopore, Pattan, Bandipora, Baramulla and adjoining villages of Rajwar Sector* attended the camp.
Officials said the primary aim of the camp was to impart training as well as motivate the youth in nation building besides shortlisting suitable NCC cadets for different levels of competitions at State and National level*. The training curriculum exposed the NCC cadets to the physical training, drill, weapon training and firing, slithering demonstration, cultural activity and environmental awareness.
The NCC Cadets undertook adventure activities to include trekking to the adjacent hills of Bhadrakal Forest in Nagradnar village. Brigadier Vikrant Patil, Commander 7 Sector Rashtriya Rifles visited the camp to motivate the NCC cadets.
Meritorious cadets were awarded by Commander 7 Sector for outstanding performance during the camp. Keeping in mind the COVID – 19 situation, the camp followed strict COVID-19 protocols while Block Medical Officer Chogul provided the necessary medical cover by carrying out Rapid Antigen Test of the entire staff and cadets on arrival for the Camp.
All security, infrastructure and administrative assistance were provided by the Nagradnar Army Camp.
