RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 29:–As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a series of activities are being organised and similar activities are also being carried out under the Chairmanship of President Municipal Council Rajouri Mohammad Arif at different wards of Rajouri town .
In continuation of these activities, the Municipal Council Rajouri today organised an awareness program on Sarvajanik Sauchalaya Safai Jan Bhagudari Amrit Utsav in which cleanliness of SBM of CT’s and PT’s of different wards of Rajouri town .
Among the others, President MC Rajouri Mohammad Arif ; Councillor Mushtaq Sheikh, EO MC Rajouri Mohammad Yaqoob, Hon’ble Councillor Pushvinder Gupta , Hon’ble Councillor Mamta Dutt, Hon’ble Councillor Yogesh Sharma, Councillor Rabia Qureshi, Councillor Gulfam Akhter , Councillor Sameen Javed , Councillor Kuldeep Raj , respected citizens ,sanitation workers, and urban dwellers, experts of NGO’s and others in hundreds attended the programme.
The main objective of the program was to generate a holistic understanding of solid waste management issues, ill effects of wrong practices of Sarvajanik Sauchalya Safai Jan Bhagidari Amrit Utsav , best practices of SBM and the importance of proper sanitation, Updates MIS and download all QR codes , Down loaded QR codes to be installed on all CT/PTs , Training to people on download and functioning of Swachh Sauchaya App. Of ULB’S can down load the app through the link ,conduct campaign for massive download of the ULB,s app .
In his address, President MC Rajouri, Mohd Arif said that Sarvajanik Sauchalya Safai Jan Bhagidari Amrit Utsav is a critical environmental problem that has a direct impact on both the environment and public health and the need of an hour is to work out a suitable plan to maintain the cleanliness of all CT,s /PT,s for to minimise its negative effects on health and control the spread of infections.
He said that many activities are being carried out regarding discouraging the use of solid waste in the district and an initiative called “Waste to Art” has also been launched in this regard.
The President also urged the public to shun the use of single-use plastic and go for the eco-friendly alternatives to polythene to protect the environment and rivers.
He also said that such programs help to understand the consequences of improper management of waste and how it may ultimately pose a serious threat to their lives and well-being.
Councillor of Municipal Council Rajouri while interacting with the participants and said that public awareness and their participation is key to successful waste management.
He added that citizens play a significant role for cleaning of all toilets complex for reducing the waste at the source level and appealed to them to understand their responsibilities and keep their surroundings neat and clean.
A work shop is also proposed for tomorrow to trained the street Vendors for operating their business at different locations of different wards of Municipal Council Rajouri regarding the Swachta Apps ,besides others welfare schemes I.e PM Sevanidhi.
