Sub-Inspector injured in Khanyar Militant Attack succumbs

Srinagar, September 12(KNS) :– A Sub-Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir police who was injured in a militant attack here in Khanyar area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday afternoon succumbed to critical injuries in a hospital.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that a Sub-Inspector identified as Arshid Ahmad sustained critical injuries during the attack has succumbed to injuries in the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) here.

Earlier, as per officals suspected militants has opened fire on police party who were on daily duty there, creating chaos in the area and forcing people to flee to safety.

Meanwhile, a police official said security forces have cordoned off the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the attackers(KNS).
