Rajouri Administration may initiate Inquiry in fake gun license racket recently busted by Kerala police

RAJOURI SEPTEMBER 08:–As per mafia reports Kerala state police, already investigating the fake gun licenses seized from the five arrested security guards (residents of Rajouri district), have arrested 18 more persons also working as security guards without valid licenses (fake licenses) with a firm providing security for vehicles carrying cash for ATMs in Kochi city.
Following detection of fake gun license network busted by the Kerala police and as per reliable sources, District Administration Rajouri is likely to initiate an inquiry to track/arrest the person (s) running a racket of issuing fake gun licenses in or outside the district.
“Being a serious matter and also concerned with the security threat the District Administration may hand over the inquiry to a Central Investigation Agency” said sources.
Earlier, Sachin Dev Singh, Additional DC had denied any record of the gun licenses available in the official records here at Rajouri seized from 5 persons arrested in the month of August.
“Kerala police once again have sought details about 18 guns and the licenses seized from these persons. The details/record for some of them don’t exist in our records while the record about the remaining, for the period mentioned in the details sought, is in the custody of CBI already investigating another gun license racket,” said Additional DC.
In 2017 Rajasthan police had busted a gun license racket disclosing that the persons with criminal records possessing licensed weapons issued by authorities in J&K.
Media reports said that Kerala police on Tuesday have arrested 18 persons from Kochi city who were deputed by a firm as security guards to provide security to vehicles carrying cash for the ATMs.
The police have also seized their guns along with ammunition after the negative report received from District Administration Rajouri.
In the month of August five security guards, residents of Rajouri district were arrested by the Kerala police from Thiruvananthapuram city for possessing guns without valid permits/licenses.
According to media reports the Kerala police said the inspection (of 18 persons) was in the wake of a similar case registered at the Karamana police station in Thiruvananthapuram and these persons were also hired by the same firm.
