RAJOURI AUGUST 25 :–To mitigate the grievances of the poor people at their doorsteps, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC Rajouri on Wednesday convened a grievances redress camps in remote areas at Treru & Khawas in Kotranka sub-district.
Large number of people from remote areas sought immediate augmentation of power/water supply, improvement of roads, up-gradation of schools, and Medicare facilities.
Sanctioning of a Degree college for Khawas, repair of Kotranka Khawas road, construction of a bridge at Patti Nallah, incomplete KGVB building, construction of VIP rooms at Dak Bungalow Khawas, transfer of land for tehsil office Khawas etc were the major demands.
Other demands include release of pending MGNREGA payments, construction of Gadyog road, shortage of medical staff at sub-center Badhal, relieving of attached staff, up-gradation of HS Badhal to HSS level, repairing of Koteranka to Badhal HT line, exaggerated electricity bills, construction of a motor-able bridge at Daleri, wages of need-based workers to be released etc.
People also demanded immediate repairing of Khawas to Bella road, the opening of a ration store at Khawas, setting up an examination hall at HSS Khawas, shortage of staff at PHC Khawas, deployment of a gynaecologist at PHC Khawas, teams to be constituted to ensure the quality of the developmental projects, the inclusion of the left out BPL families under PMAY etc.
“Every possible effort is being made to reach out to the general public and redress their grievances at their doorsteps and the District Administration is committed to ensuring hundred percent transparency and accountability in its functioning,” said DDC.
“To redress the issues related to drinking water facilities, the District Administration has constituted an exclusive women’s water conservation club. Fifty thousand youth have also been registered with the District Administration” DDC added.
Sixty-Five Thousand lakh person’s days under MGNREGA would be generated this year in the district, DDC informed.
“Rajouri has been identified as a dairy district under the ODOP scheme and the Government is working on a multi-pronged strategy to increase milk production. Five thousand dairy units would be opened in the district” said DDC.
“Forest Right Act, the DDC said that the Act would be implemented in letter and spirit in the district and all rights and genuine concerns of the forest dwellers would be properly taken care of” DDC added.
“To promote and increase the forest cover in J&K through people’s participation, the Government has launched the J & K Green drive and appealed to the people to actively participate in the drive” said DDC.
DDC appealed to the public to get them registered under the SEHAT scheme at the earliest to avail the necessary benefits of the scheme.
“264 projects have been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 1240 crores under Jal Jeevan Mission and all the households of the district shall be provided with tapped water connection with the completion of work on these projects” said DDC.
The DDC said that an amount of Rs 1.00 crore has been disbursed among the construction workers (9000 in the district registered) during COVID under the JKBOCW scheme of the labour department, he added.
Lokmitra initiative has been launched with an aim to ensure the better implementation of Government schemes and programmes at the grass-root level.
“All the grievances have been documented and also passed on spot directions to the concerned officers/officials for early redressal” said DDC.
