All the four Covid deaths in the State in a week from Rajouri district.

Rajouri August 24 :–According to daily media bulletins on a Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19) issued by the Government of UT of J&K, four deaths were reported during the last one week in the State (since August 17) and all are from Rajouri district.

According to a report, three deaths have been reported during the last three days in the district and the death tally has reached 233 including 178 during the 2nd wave.

In the morning hours on Monday a 45-year-old woman died in the isolation ward of AH&GMC at Rajouri.

Of the 965 reports received today 5 cases were found Covid-19 positive including 2 SFs personnel & both symptomatic. The positivity rate is 0.52%.

Of 7205 active cases found during the 2nd wave, 57 are still active of which 19 are in home isolation, 7 in Panchayat CCCs & 31 in hospital isolation

Out of 31 admitted/isolated in hospitals, 6 are GMC Rajouri, 15 in the army hospital & 9 in the hospitals out of the district, and one in Triage (MCH).

Rajouri district on Sunday reported its second death due to black fungus after a 23-year-old Covid-19 detected patient died of Mucromycosis at Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu.

Chief Medical Officer Rajouri has confirmed the fatality due to Mucormycosis (Rhinocerebral) and the youth reportedly suffered from a high degree of diabetes.

The youth was a resident of Kotranka tehsil in Rajouri district under Kandi Health block. On August 18 the deceased was brought to a private hospital at Rajouri from where he was sent to GMC & H, Jammu.

“The last rites of the deceased were performed by following safety guidelines and protocol strictly adhered by a team of health employees from the Kandi Health Block,” said CMO.

Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO, Kandi informed that a team of the health department visited the village and conducted samplings of the family members, relatives, and neighbours of the deceased.

“All the 25 RAT tests conducted today found negative including of 7 family members. The remaining tests will be conducted on Tuesday,” said BMO.

About two months ago the first Mucromycosis case was also reported from this health block.
