Rajouri August 02 :– In an encouraging development, the Covid positivity rate in Rajouri district has declined to 0.47 %. Only six positive cases are found in the district today out of 1284 reports received.
Reliable sources said that 22 positive cases are found in the district today instead of 6 (16 after 2 pm) as was earlier reported in the State Media Bulletin on Novel Corona Virus.
The people have been advised to follow Covid-19 SOPs and take vaccines to prevent a fresh surge of the pandemic.
Out of 7065 reported positive during the 2nd wave presently there are 49 active cases in the district out of which 10 are in home isolation, 19 in Panchayat ICCCs, 19 in hospital isolation, and 1 in Triage isolation.
During the 1st and 2nd wave 10938 positive cases were found in the district out of which 10664 have recovered while 225 died (169 deaths during the second wave).
Today 1040 persons above 45 years of age were given a 1st dose of the vaccine, 653 received the 2nd dose while 1080 people under the age bar 18-44 were given the first dose and 382-second dose.
District Administration under the supervision of Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner makes every effort to keep the pandemic at bay by advising the people to follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) strictly and go for full vaccination.
Enforcement teams in a drive to implement Covid protocol across the district today fined scores of violators and realised fines worth Rs 59640.
Meanwhile, Director Health Services has expressed over low performance of Covid-19 sampling both RAT and RT-PCR and directed to increase the sampling/ testing.
