RAJOURI, JULY 27:- District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today reviewed the performance of the Rural Development Department under various schemes here in a meeting of the concerned officers held in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bungalow.
Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; SE PWD, Javaid Maqbool; SE Jal Shakti Department, JP Singh; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ExEn REW, Noor Ali and BDOs attended the meeting.
A discussion concerning various points including geo-tagging of assets, estimation of works approved under District Capex Budget, registration of ‘B’ class contractors for panchayat level works, progress on water conservation-related works, payments under PMAY and MGNREGA, identification of abandoned Government buildings etc were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Concerning the Geo-tagging of the assets, the District Development Commissioner asked the concerned officers to complete the geo-tagging of all the works at each stage at the earliest.
Regarding the estimation of the works approved under the District Capex Budget, the District Development Commissioner asked the ExEn REW to complete the exercise in this regard within twelve days.
For the enlistment of registration of ‘B’ class contractors for Panchayat level works, the District Development Commissioner also asked the concerned officers to complete the process at the earliest to provide job opportunities to locals and to expedite the development works in rural areas.
Regarding the timely payments under PMAY and MGNREGA, the District Development Commissioner asked the concerned officers to ensure timely payment to the beneficiaries so that they don’t face any inconveniences.
Reviewing the progress of the works related to water conservation, the District Development Commissioner issued instructions to the BDOs to expedite these works and ensure that they are completed in a time-bound manner. He also asked the concerned officers to generate massive awareness among the masses about the importance of fresh water and the ways which can be adapted to conserve and preserve this invaluable gift of nature.
In connection with the repair and renovation of the water bodies, the District Development Commissioner instructed the BDOs to speed up the work in this respect and the process within twenty days.
Regarding the proper follow up of the COVID related guidelines, the District Development Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that all the COVID related SOPs are strictly adhered to by the public in their respective jurisdictions and take stern action against the violators.
ACD has been directed to set up a grievances redressal cell at his office where the public would register their complaints about RDD besides, he has been asked to ensure the speedy disposal of all the genuine public concerns in a time-bound manner.
The District Development Commissioner also asked the concerned officers to identify the abandoned Government buildings in their jurisdictions which need minor repairs and submit the report in this regard within three days.
The District Development Commissioner directed the BDOs to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas and stressed on adoption of more innovative methods in various schemes and involvement of common masses in the development process so that the set targets well in time.
The District Development Commissioner also asked the BDOs not to leave their headquarters without the prior permission of the head of the institution. He also warned of any laxity and asked the concerned to work with a proactive and people-friendly approach to make their blocks model entities for the inspiration of others.
The District Development Commissioner also asked the concerned officers to take the assistance of the Lok Mitra in achieving their targets.
