Rajouri July 20:–Public Works department (Road & Building) in the camps, held at few places in the district, handed over contractor cards to some unemployed youth in an initiative to extend helping hands to them.
Er. Sheikh Javed who was recently taken over the charge of Superintending Engineer (SE); PWD (R&B), Rajouri took the initiative and cleared the pending files of the aspirants who had earlier applied for the contractor cards in two different camps.
Earlier the camp was organised at Nowshera where all those files were cleared, whose formalities were completed, and issued the cards on the spot.
“Continuing the drive a camp was organised in Rajouri today where several youths were provided with cards” said an senior officer.
“The files in this connection were lying pending since a long time and were not issued for many reasons. Immediately after assuming the charge, I decided to clear the files so that unemployed youth might get work to earn their livelihood” said Er. Sheikh Javed .
The initiative of issuing cards on spot was taken to bring transparency, he added.
The effort and initiative of the SE was appreciated by Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner who joined the camp and handed over the cards to the youth on spot with the aim that they will work for the development of their areas as well as the district.
Er. Sheikh Javid exhorted the youth of the Rajouri to work hard and with honesty.
