PHYSICAL VERIFICATION OF DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS IN FULL SWING IN RAJOURI DISTRICT Finance Department issued directives to expedite the Physical verification of works in time bound manner: DSEO Rajouri

 
RAJOURI, JULY 18:–To ensure transparency and accountability in Government expenditure, the teams of Planning Development and Monitoring (Now Finance Deptt) department today conducted verification of under execution projects/Completed Projects in different areas of Rajouri district in the light of recent directions issued by the Worthy Chief Secretary, J&K, who is also Financial Commissioner, Finance Dept.  in which Pace Setting Weeks have been declared for expediting the Physical verification of works.
 
*District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Rajouri Bilal Rashid Mir, on the directions issued by the *Director General ( E&S) A.K Gandotra*  and *Rajesh Kumar Shavan, District Development Commissioner Rajouri* inspected various developmental works executed in the district out of the works enlisted by the Finance Department under 100% Physical Verification.
 
As per District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Mir teams comprising of officers and officials of the Planning, Dev. and Monitoring Department (Now Finance Department) inspected various developmental works being executed in the District by various agencies like Public Works Department, Rural Engineering Wing, JPDCL, SAMAGRA etc, as enlisted by the Finance Department for 100% Physical Verification.
 
A number of projects have been kept in the Plan, for verification this week, belonging to different departments, for which District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, (Dy. Director Planning) Bilal Rashid has deployed various teams, to ascertain the factual position regarding the execution of the projects on ground and their utility cum outcome, after completion, being public benefitted schemes. 
 
 The teams have been assigned the task to carry out the hundred percent physical verification of works/ projects in the district.
The inspecting teams examined whether all basic codal formalities like AA, Technical Sanction, e-tendering have been adhered to besides examining availability of budgetary support, DPR, tendered/allotted cost and expenditure incurred etc. They further verified any visible and major deficiency which requires the attention of the executing agencies for remedial necessary action. 
 
 The DSEO also informed that the physical verification of 43 projects/ works has been done in the last week and 06 No. of projects got inspected today by himself including dropped out Languishing Projects executed in the last fiscals namely Main road from Panihad to Khurad, Road from Gujjar Mohd Dori Mai to Panadagai Jamola Upper and Gujjar Basti Sara to GMS Najro, Panadagai Jamola Upper approved JKIDFC. Besides, this SO Planning Kalakote along with other Team members inspected 04 Nos of roads including PMGSY roads falling in Kalakote Zone namely road from Dalyote to Dhanwan and road from Bathera to Ghawan.
 
 The DSEO said that the exercise is being carried out, in the light of directions issued by Financial Commissioner, Finance Department to strengthen the institution of Monitoring and Evaluation right from the ground level of the official machinery for bringing transparency, accountability and efficiency in government expenditure, so that UT exchequer could not be slanted and a real dream of Government of J&K could be fulfilled. The DSEO also informed that the Finance Department has assigned the physical verification of the works/projects to make the optimum utilisation of the Government funds so that tangible assets can be created on the ground for the public benefit.
