Unidentified wild beast attacked & injured four pople in Budhal area.

:–An unidentified wild beast has attacked and wounded four persons in a remote Bathan village in Budhal area in the Kotranka sub-district in Rajouri district in the morning today.
All the four besides required treatment have also been given first dose of Anti rabies Vaccine and we’re advised for second dose on Wednesday.
“We have never seen this type of wild animal in our area or at any other place. The wild animal was a little bigger than a fox with a round face, spiky paw & teeth,” said 32 years old Mohd Iqbal one of the victims.
“I was in conversation with my neighbour in the maize field when the wild beast at about 9.30 am appeared from the maize crop and attacked me from behind. I managed to escape from his clutches while the neighbour fled from the scene” he added.
Similarly, Saleema Akhter 35 years old was also attacked at about 11.30 am and she also received several wounds on the arms while fighting with the beast.
13 years old Mohd Shahid and 60 years old Hasan Bano of the same village were also attacked by the beast and they also got injuries on the arms/hands while fighting with the wild beast.
All the injured were rushed to Primary Health Center at Budhal but in the absence of proper treatment sent to Community Health Center at Kotranka in the ambulance.
All the four victims were treated and were given Anti-Rabies Vaccine as precautionary measures because none of the victims could identify the wild beast” said Dr.Iqbal Malik, BMO, Kotranka Health Block.
Meanwhile, Sarpanch of Rajnagar Upper has demanded that a wildlife team should visit the area for the protection of the people and the identification of the wild beast that has attacked and injured four people.
