Zila Sainik Welfare Board organised raising day first time after 1953.

On Wednesday Zila Sainik Welfare Board (ZSWB) Rajouri celebrated its raising day for the first time since its establishment in 1953.
“This is the first time that we are celebrating this occasion since the office was established in 1953,” said Javed Mir, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO).
Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) chaired the function and listed several measures taken to address the issues of the Ex-Servicemen & Veer Naris including grievance redress at Tehsil level and through online mode.
“District Administration Rajouri is working side by side with the Zila Sainik Welfare board for the socio-economic development of the Ex-servicemen community in the district and all possible efforts are being made in this regard,” said DC.
“Ex-servicemen are the pride of our Nation as they have given their immense contribution to the nation in their prime youth. They should keep serving the society in the same way, as they used to do during their service days ” he added.
The Deputy Commissioner elaborated about the number of measures being taken to strengthen the ZSWB and the mechanism for the online redressal of the grievances of the Ex-servicemen would be developed soon so that they don’t have to visit the board frequently.
“The District Administration has also decided to set up a special grievance redressal cell in the office of Tehsildar in all the tehsils of the district for the convenience of ex-servicemen” said DC.
“Administration is also in the process to get the data/details of the children of ex-servicemen who are technically qualified to provide them employment under self-employment generation schemes” said DC.
He also provided financial assistance to the widows of ex-servicemen on this occasion.
“Deputy Commissioner has been at the forefront in ensuring that our veterans are looked after properly. The veteran community will always remain indebted to him for his tireless efforts” said Javed Mir, ZSWO.
