7th District Soft Tennis Championships 2025–2026 Successfully Held at Sports Stadium Poonch

POONCH JULY 30:-The 7th District Poonch Soft Tennis Championships for 2025–2026 concluded with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship at the Sports Stadium Poonch. The event was organized by the District Soft Tennis Association Poonch in collaboration with the Sports Council Unit Poonch, under the affiliation of the Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India and the Jammu & Kashmir Olympic Association. The tournament is also affiliated with the Asian Soft Tennis Federation and the International Soft Tennis Federation, and recognized by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Manager in-charge of Sports Stadium Poonch, along with Syed Zakir Hussain. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 players—boys and girls—in various age categories including Under-14, Under-17, Under-19, as well as junior, sub-junior, and senior divisions.

Participants showcased their talent and dedication throughout the championship, with winners being awarded gold medals and other prizes. The final ceremony was held in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Ruby Naza, Deputy CMO Poonch, who distributed the prizes and applauded the players and organizers for their contributions to promoting soft tennis in the region.

Imran Hussain Shah,Shabir Ahmed Malik,Imtiaz Ahmed Lone,Shanzan Ahmed,Mohd Sholi and Mohd Akaram

The efforts of Coach Abyani Rana were particularly acknowledged for their role in training and mentoring the players. Appreciation was also extended to all coaches, association members, and volunteers for successfully organizing the event.

The program was hosted by Pervaiz Ahmed Malik, NIS Cricket Coach, and was held under the overall supervision of Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Lone, who ensured smooth coordination and execution of the championship.

Several outstanding players were selected to represent District Poonch at the state-level soft tennis events, marking another proud moment for the district’s growing sporting reputation.

The championship not only highlighted the growing interest in soft tennis among the youth of Poonch but also reinforced the importance of grassroots development in sports through such well-organized district-level events.
