77th Republic Day Celebrated with Patriotic Zeal at Mankote ; Officials Emphasize Unity, Constitution, and Public Participation

POONCH JANUARY 26:-The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with immense patriotic fervour, enthusiasm, and large-scale public participation at Mankote, where the civil administration, educational institutions, local representatives, and the Indian Army jointly commemorated the historic occasion.
The programme featured colourful cultural performances, an impressive march past, and prize distribution ceremonies, reflecting unity, constitutional values, and strong coordination among departments and the local population.

According to District Development Council (DDC) Member Ch. Imran Zaffar, Tehsildar Mankote Mohd. Mahroof, participants, and senior education officials, the celebrations showcased a vibrant spirit of nationalism and harmony.

Addressing the gathering, DDC Member Ch. Imran Zaffar described the occasion as historic and expressed happiness over the overwhelming public response. He said Republic Day marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution, a document that unites people of all castes and communities while ensuring equality for both the rich and the poor. He emphasized that such celebrations strengthen national spirit and assured that Republic Day would continue to be observed with the same passion in the coming years.

Zaffar appreciated the efforts of the Tehsildar and the entire administration for the well-organized programme, remarking that Mankote stood number one in terms of Republic Day celebrations. He congratulated participating children and media persons, acknowledging the role of the media in highlighting programmes from border areas like Mankote across the country. He urged citizens to protect and follow the Constitution and made special mention of the presence of the Indian Army, stating that the Army has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the people in the Rajouri–Poonch border areas. He lauded the Army’s role in encouraging children and distributing prizes and refreshments.

Tehsildar Mohd. Mahroof said that being a central location, Mankote witnessed participation from a large number of schools. He thanked teachers, students, and all departments for their contributions. He highlighted the support of line departments, including PHC and PWD, for arranging tents, stage, electricity, and other facilities to ensure smooth conduct of the event. Calling the enthusiasm unmatched, he appreciated the active participation of the Commanding Officer of 30 Punjab, who remained present throughout the programme and encouraged the children.
Stressing the importance of the Constitution, the Tehsildar said it grants rights along with responsibilities and calls for unity, character, and service to the underprivileged for the betterment of society.

Participant Iram Choudhary extended Republic Day greetings and said students participated with great enthusiasm and secured first position. She thanked the Tehsil Mankote administration for providing a valuable platform for students.

Former Deputy Chief Education Officer Mohd. Azam also conveyed Republic Day greetings and praised the large participation of schools. He said the success of the event was due to meticulous planning by the Tehsildar, who ensured inclusive participation. He expressed happiness over the presence of the Punjab Regiment’s Commanding Officer and congratulated the administration on the successful conduct of the programme.

The Republic Day celebration at Mankote emerged as a strong symbol of unity, coordination, and patriotic spirit, bringing together the civil administration, educational institutions, the Indian Army, and the local community, while reinforcing the values of equality, responsibility, and collective progress enshrined in the Constitution of India.
