3rd Day of Brigadier Usman Cricket Tournament; Doda beat Akhnoor team

RAJOURI DEC 12:-With prize money of Rs 20 lakh and to promote young hidden talents from different districts of UT of J&K, especially from border areas, Indian Army has organised 1st edition (December 9 to 17) of Brigadier Usman SPPR Inter District/Tehsil cricket tournament at Nowshera in Rajouri district.
Teams from Rajouri, Nowshera, Akhnoor, Poonch, Doda, Udhampur, and Sunderbani are contesting for the Trophy.
On the 3rd day of the tournament a closely contested match was played between the teams of Akhnoor and Doda districts on Wednesday (December 11) at Nowshera sports ground.
The excitement is increasing as the cricket tournament enters its final stage. Thrill and excitement were seen till the last over in the match between Akhnoor and Doda.
Finally, Doda defeated Akhnoor by four wickets and Nitin Kumar was declared Man of the Match and also awarded for his explosive batting and highest number of sixes.
To make this tournament unforgettable, the Army also honoured all the winners and participants with gifts.
On the fourth day of the cricket tournament on Thursday, the first match will be played between Rajouri and Doda and the second match will be played between Udhampur and Reasi in the afternoon.
Hundreds of spectators from different parts of Nowshera town and other areas of subdivision reached the Nowshera Sports ground to watch the cricket tournament.
