3rd batch of MBBS students at GMC Rajouri inaugurated, Dr Yashpal Sharma encourages aspiring doctors to serve humanity

RAJOURI MARCH 15:–An impressive inaugural function for the MBBS Batch 2021-22 was held by GMC Rajouri administration (at Multipurpose Hall of Govt. P G College, Rajouri) in which Dr. Yashpal Sharma Director Coordination Govt Medical Colleges was the chief guest.
The function started with lamp ceremony. The lamp was put to light by Dr. Yaspaul Sharma Director Coordination Govt Medical Colleges, Dr. Ghulam Ali Shah Principal GMC Rajouri, Sh. Shafeeq Malik Chief Accounts Officer GMC Rajouri, Dr. Mehmood Bajar Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital Rajouri, Dr. Vijay Gupta HoD ENT GMC Rajouri, Dr Zubair Afzal HoD Surgery GMC Rajouri & Dr. Neeru Gupta Deptt of Gynaecology GMC Rajouri.

Welcome note was given by Dr. Chander Shekhar HoD Gynaecology who advised the students to wear their aprons with pride. While addressing the children he said, “You have entered into a life-saving profession and challenging profession. Accept the challenge and work hard. Your education is vital for empowerment of the society”.

It was followed by the Apron wearing & Stetho adorning Ceremony in which the faculty members assisted the students in wearing the Apron and stethoscope and wished them the best for their future. It gave immensely gleeful moments to the parents attending the ceremony. Tears of joy could be seen in their eyes.
After the Apron wearing & Stetho adorning Ceremony the Charak oath/the Hippocratic oath ceremony was also held on the occasion during which the students pledged to work with dedication towards the larger interest of the society. It was administered by Dr. Vijay Gupta.
The chief guest in his address apprised the students of their responsibilities and duties as medical professionals and advised them to equip themselves with such skills that make a doctor successful in delivering his services to the general public. While addressing students he said, “Today is the era of technological revolution and acquiring knowledge is not difficult. He advised them to make the best use of the technology and acquire knowledge with dedication & sincerity and leave no stone unturned”. He applauded the services of GMC Rajouri and praised the faculty for imparting excellent knowledge that enabled the students of previous batches to achieve high merits in their academics. He further applauded the efforts put by the administration of the college round the clock to bring it at par with national standards. Terming the teaching faculty as a storehouse of knowledge he wished that GMC Rajouri never falls short of the number in this regard.

Ravinder Malhotra HoD Physiology spoke on the occasion about course orientation and gave the students an over view of the curriculum.
Vote of thanks was given by Principal GMC Rajouri Prof. Dr. Ghulam Ali Shah.
The function concluded with National anthem.
After the function a Dr. Yaspaul Sharma Director Coordination Govt Medical Colleges held a meeting with the faculty & Administration of GMC Rajouri at Multipurpose Hall P G College Rajouri and discussed various issues of concern with them. He emphasised on early resolution of all the issues.
Dr. Yaspaul Sharma Director Coordination Govt Medical Colleges also visited the GMC Rajouri campus Mera along with all the faculty and administration of GMC Rajouri and directed the authorities to shift the classes to ready to move in college.
