CHENAB VALLEY NOV 06:-Alpha Company 26 RR COY Patnazi proudly organised a transformative free medical and veterinary camp in the picturesque village of Kither today under Operation Sadbhavna, marking a significant milestone for the local community for the first time in Bunjwah history after 20 years. This initiative, set against the charming backdrop of the village, offered a wide range of services, including general health check-ups, vaccinations, and consultations conducted by qualified medical professionals. The veterinary segment provided essential care for livestock, offering vaccinations and treatments for common ailments, which are vital for the livelihoods of local farmers.
The event attracted an impressive turnout of over 500 residents, demonstrating the community’s eagerness to participate and illustrating the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals and families in this remote area. Attendees expressed gratitude for the services provided, highlighting the significant impact of the camp on improving access to healthcare in the region. Such initiatives underline the Army’s dedication to supporting rural communities and fostering a sense of unity and hope.
Kither, a scenic village nestled within the mountainous block of Bunjwah and surrounded by vibrant green hills, faces significant challenges in accessing essential healthcare services. The area’s rugged terrain, characterised by narrow, winding footpaths and steep inclines, without road connectivity for 15 kilometres, complicates transportation for both patients and medical personnel, while limited medical infrastructure further exacerbates the situation. Recognising the critical need for comprehensive healthcare solutions, a well-organised medical camp was established to directly address these deficiencies and improve the overall well-being of the community.
During this pivotal camp, attendees were provided with a variety of services specifically designed to address both immediate and long-term health needs. These services included comprehensive medical examinations to screen for common health issues, routine vaccinations for both children and adults to prevent infectious diseases, and essential veterinary care for livestock—critical for the livelihoods of many families who rely on these animals for food security and economic stability.
The medical team consisted of dedicated professionals with extensive experience and expertise. Leading the initiative was RMO Captain Arpit Aneja from the 26 RR Alpha Company, whose leadership ensured smooth coordination throughout the camp. He was accompanied by Dr Mudassir Bashir Malik from the NTPHC Patnazi, who specialised in public health and preventive care; Dr Owais from Sub Centre Buddhar, known for his compassionate approach to patient care; and Dr Ruhail, a specialist in Veterinary Medicine whose knowledge was invaluable in delivering healthcare for the community’s livestock.
This collaboration of skilled professionals aimed to address immediate health concerns while also implementing sustainable health management strategies. By tailoring their solutions to the unique needs of Kither’s population, the team made significant contributions to enhancing healthcare accessibility and overall community resilience.
The camp not only provided essential medical services but also offered educational sessions on health, hygiene, and preventive care. Residents learned about disease management, nutrition, and sanitation through hands-on workshops, empowering them to enhance their overall well-being.
Veterinary professionals shared crucial knowledge on livestock health, including nutrition, vaccination schedules, and disease prevention, which is vital for the attendees’ food security and economic stability. Presentations featured visual aids and interactive discussions to help residents understand their animals’ health needs. This initiative highlights the Indian Army’s commitment to improving the well-being of Kither’s residents and fostering community spirit, establishing a foundation for a healthier, more resilient community.
The health initiative empowers residents to improve their health and livestock care, leading to lasting benefits. With access to medical care, nutritional advice, and veterinary support, community members are better prepared to face health challenges, strengthening their united commitment to mutual support. The local community expresses gratitude to Alpha Company 26 RR Coy Patnazi Bunjwah for organising this important event in their challenging environment, which not only brought valuable services but also inspired collaboration and resilience among residents.
