21 animals rescued in Rajouri, driver of vehicle arrested

RAJOURI MAY 23:–Rescuing Fourteen animals from the vehicle, police in Rajouri foiled a bovine smuggling bid and seized the vehicle used in the crime besides arrest of accused driver.

Police said that in the evening hours on Monday , a team of police headed by Incharge Police Post Chingus Chatyar, PSI Sahil Chowdhary under close supervision of SHO Rajouri Insp. Fareed Ahmed during routine Checking/frisking at the Kallar Naka in jurisdiction when a Truck 12 Axle vehicle which was moving towards Poonch was intercepted.

The vehicle with registration number JK02CD 2627 was found driven by Qaramat Hussain son of Liaqat Hussain resident of Bhimber Gali and was found loaded with Fourteen bovine animals.

The animals were tied with ropes in an improper and very cruel manner without food and water and there was no requisite permission with the driver.

In this connection, cognizance has been taken under relevant sections of law in Police station Rajouri and further investigation is going on.

In another incident a Police Party headed by Incharge Police Post Chattyar PSI Sahil Choudhary under close supervision of SHO Rajouri Insp. Fareed Ahmed during patrolling at Naghoon area rescued 07 bovine animals from the clutches of bovine smuggler name Mohd Manzoor S/O Mohd Khan R/O Tandwal Rajouri while transporting the bovine animals by foot towards Poonch/Valley. Cognizance has been taken up under relevant sections of law.
