    JAMMU DECM 25:-A delegation of land donors associated with the Irrigation & Flood Control Department Jammu today met Cabinet Minister Javed Rana at his residence office in Jammu and submitted a memorandum seeking regularisation of their services.

    The delegation apprised the Minister that they have been working with the department in lieu of land donated by them for the creation of vital irrigation and flood control infrastructure. Highlighting their long-standing association and contribution, the land donors sought a considered resolution of their pending issues.

    The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that all their concerns are under careful examination. He stated that the issues would be addressed in a phased manner by the current dispensation, in accordance with rules and due process.

    The delegation was led by A. Attri, retired DIG, and included Vijay Lochan and M. K. Rana, among others.

    In his message, the Minister said that Christmas embodies the values of love, peace, and compassion, and expressed hope that the festival would further strengthen communal harmony and brotherhood. He noted that Jammu and Kashmir has a rich tradition of celebrating festivals across faiths and emphasized that the teachings of Jesus Christ are especially relevant in today’s times and should guide collective conduct.

    RAJOURI, DECM 25:-District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today presided over a grievance redressal camp at Gundi, Khawas, a far-flung area of district Rajouri, under the ongoing ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign being observed as part of Good Governance Week.

    During the camp, the general public raised several issues pertaining to improvement of road connectivity, requisition of electricity poles in certain areas, functioning of water supply schemes, health facilities, and other civic concerns. The District Development Commissioner listened patiently to the grievances and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments for their timely redressal.

    Speaking on the occasion, the DDC emphasized that the objective of the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign is to take the administration to the doorsteps of the people, especially in remote and border areas, and to ensure prompt delivery of services.

    He reiterated the administration’s commitment to transparent, responsive and citizen-centric governance, directing officers to maintain close coordination and ensure that public grievances are addressed within stipulated timelines.

    Similar grievance redressal camps were also organized across different blocks of district Rajouri, including Niabat Office Ujhan, Community Hall MC Kalakote, Panchayat Ghar Kalsian, BHSS Thanamandi, TRC Shadra, Village Prori, and Panchayat Ghar Dhokbanyad, Beripatan, enabling wider public outreach under the campaign.

    The camps witnessed active participation from local residents, who appreciated the initiative for bringing governance closer to the people and addressing their issues at the grassroots level.

    ADC Kotranka, Dilmir, along with other district and sectoral officers, accompanied the DDC Rajouri and participated in the grievance redressal process, providing necessary clarifications and assistance to the public.

    POONCH DECM 25:-The District Poonch Taekwondo Championships 2025–26 concluded successfully with a grand closing ceremony held at the Indoor Hall, Sports Stadium, Poonch. The two-day championship was organised by the Taekwondo Association of District Poonch under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association and recognised by the J&K Sports Council (JKSC). The event was held from December 23 to 24, 2025.

    The closing ceremony was graced by Mr Ajaz Ahmed Jan, MLA Haveli, Poonch, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Shakeel ul Rehman, JKAS, attended as the Guest of Honour. Several eminent personalities were present as Special Guests, including Mr Mushtaq Ahmed, Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch; Mr Tariq Khan, International Volleyball Coach; Mr Khawaja Abdul Razaq; Mr Pree Khurshad Sab; and Ms Saleema Sheikh.

    On the occasion, tokens of honour were presented to prominent contributors and supporters of sports in the district in recognition of their valuable services and encouragement to taekwondo and youth sports. Those honoured included Mr Pervaiz Ahmed Malik, Mr Imran Shah , Mr Owais ul Din, Mr Wasim Ahmed, Mr Umber Ahmed, Mr Zaheer Sab Jee, Mr Shabir Malik, Mr Sajad Rather, Mr Shafeeq Ahmed, Mr Akbar Ali Banday, Mr Abhay Raina, Mr Khalid Karbamin, Mr Amjid Shah, Mr Mukther Rathore, Master Rayaz, Ch Muzfeer, Mr Pervinder Singh (Youth NC Leader Poonch), and Mr Aman Sharma (PET, EMRS).

    The championship was conducted under the supervision of Mr Manzoor Ahmed Lone and Mr Ashiq Hussain, National Referee, who served as the Technical Officials, ensuring fair play and strict adherence to competition rules.

    The event was efficiently managed by the organising team comprising Ms Khalida Jabeen, Mr Waqar Ahmed, Mr Sandeep Kumar, Mr Imran Khan, Mr Pawandeep Singh, Mr Gurbir Singh, Mr Wajid Iqbal, Mr Wasif Javid, Mr Akarshit Sudan (National Referee), Ms Tabussam (National Referee), Mr Arshdeep, Mr Fawad Janghir, and Mr Varun Sudan. The programme was smoothly anchored by Aijaz Malik.
    Addressing the gathering, Shri Rajesh Pangotra, President, congratulated the entire organising team for the smooth and successful conduct of the championship. He lauded the enthusiastic participation of players, coaches, and officials, stating that such events play a crucial role in promoting sports culture and nurturing young talent at the grassroots level.It was announced that the medalists of the championship will represent District Poonch in the upcoming 28th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2025–26, bringing pride and honour to the district.

    The championship concluded on a high note with a spirit of sportsmanship, motivation, and renewed commitment towards the growth and promotion of Taekwondo in Poonch and across Jammu & Kashmir.

    RAJOURI DECM 25:-In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Rajouri Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 22 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance during routine naka checking in the Chingus area.

    According to police officials, a police party from Police Post Chingus, led by the In-Charge PP Chingus, noticed suspicious movement of two individuals during routine checking. Upon interception and questioning, the suspects exhibited suspicious behaviour, prompting the police to conduct a thorough personal search.

    The arrested individuals have been identified as Nahid Choudhary, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Ward No. 13, Peer Kanju and Mohd Asim, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Ward No. 13, Peer Kanju, Rajouri.During the search, the police recovered 22 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from their possession. Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused were operating within the Rajouri area and were passing through Chingus with the intention of selling the drug consignment.

    In this connection, FIR No. 605/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri. Both accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the narcotics and identify the wider network involved in drug trafficking.

    Rajouri Police reaffirmed their zero-tolerance policy against the drug menace and appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug-related activities.

    SRINAGAR DECM 25:-In a landmark celebration of two decades of unwavering service to humanity, RED DROP (A Unit of Blood Donors), under the aegis of the registered NGO KASHMIR CONCERN, organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp today at *PARAS HOSPITAL DALGATE* Srinagar. The camp, marking the organization’s 20th Foundation Day, was held in collaboration with PARAS HOSPITAL, Dalgate, and the Rotary Club of Kashmir.

    The significant event witnessed an overwhelming response from the community and was graced by esteemed dignitaries from civil administration, judiciary, armed forces, and civil society, underscoring the universal cause of saving lives. The camp successfully collected *52 units* of blood, contributing to the noble mission and adding to a monumental legacy of over many units collected in the past two decades.

    The event was inaugurated by Abhijit Mitra, GOC, 31 Sub Area, who commended the relentless efforts of *RED DROP* and its volunteers. The guest of honour, Aijaz Khan, District Judge, Kulgam & Secretary, DLSA Anantnag, lauded the initiative as a cornerstone of social responsibility.

    The camp served as a platform to recognize and honour the selfless spirit of Kashmir’s most dedicated blood donors. Mr. Shabir Hussain, renowned as the ‘Blood Man of J&K’, and Ms. Bilkees Ara, acclaimed as the ‘Blood Woman of J&K’, were felicitated for their extraordinary, life-saving contributions.

    Prominent Personalities and community leaders, including Mr. Sayeem Qayoom Secretary DLSA Anantnag , President KCC&I Mr. Javeed Tenga ,Chairman, HPVT Farooq Bhat and Ali M lone ,Mr. Jagjit Singh President Rotary Club of Kashmir ,Chairman KTMF Abrar Khan ,Chairman Noor Kash Foundation ,Mr Arjumand Makdoomi Chairman Chote Tare Foundation , Mr.Yakub Dunoo, Mr. Tariq Patloo, Mr. Syed Ajaz Kashani, Mr. Azhar Tantray, Mr. Peerzada Tahir, Mr. Sheikh Tahir, and Ms. Jannat Tariq, Hilal bhat Javaid shah Adv Junaid Sadat chairman Saving the future Maroj Zahoor and many volunteers from various organisations were present, showcasing a unified commitment to the cause.
