SRINAGAR NOV 28:-As part of the ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, the Beerwah Assembly constituency convened an important organisational meeting aimed at strengthening grassroots structures and energising local Congress units.

AICC Observer Shamina Shafiq (former Member, National Commission for Women) and State Observer Shameema Raina (State President, Mahila Congress) presided over the review session, which was attended by the District President, three Block Presidents and senior Congress functionaries from the area.

The meeting focused on assessing booth-level preparations, upgrading organisational mechanisms and ensuring that the spirit and message of the Bharat Jodo Yatra continues to shape the party’s public outreach in the region.

Shamina Shafiq emphasised that the Yatra’s values of unity, justice and people-centric politics must be reflected in every aspect of the party’s organisational work. She noted that the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan has evolved into a “powerful talent-hunt” within the Indian National Congress, opening doors for genuine grassroots participation.

According to her, the exercise is helping identify individuals who have been quietly working in their localities—people with moral authority, credibility and the trust of their communities. “The Congress is rebuilding itself from the soil upward,” she said, highlighting that the initiative is discovering the next line of leaders who embody inclusivity and a people-first approach.

Workers also shared local issues, progress reports and upcoming plans, reaffirming their commitment to building a stronger, more connected Congress organisation in the Beerwah Assembly segment.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to accelerate organisational revival and deepen outreach across all blocks of Beerwah.

JAMMU NOV 28:-Azad Democratic Party spokesperson Salman Nizami has strongly criticized the National Conference–led government over the demolition of senior journalist Arfaz Daing’s house by the Jammu Development Authority (JDA).

In a sharp Facebook post today, Nizami questioned how such an action could be taken without the knowledge or approval of the government, asserting that the JDA functions directly under the NC administration. He urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take strict action against the Vice Chairman, JDA, holding him responsible for the incident.

Nizami termed the ongoing “blame game and excuses” as unacceptable, stating that if officers were acting without the consent of the government, accountability must be fixed at the highest level.

“If officers aren’t listening to the government, then for what are you holding the chair? Resign!” he wrote, calling the demolition unjust and demanding immediate corrective measures.

The incident has sparked political outrage across Jammu & Kashmir, with journalists and civil society members also demanding a transparent probe.
