MLA Rajouri Iftkhar Ahmed Raises Key Public Issues in J&K Assembly

SRINAGAR OCT 30:-MLA Rajouri, Iftkhar Ahmed, on Wednesday raised several significant public issues in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, drawing attention to the impact of development projects and administrative shortcomings in the region.
He highlighted the unemployment caused by the Katra ropeway project, which has adversely affected palki carriers, horse owners, and shopkeepers who depended on traditional means of livelihood.
The MLA also expressed concern over the delay in shifting the Mother and Child Hospital, the shortage of staff at GMC Rajouri, and the administrative lapses at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), including delays in promotions, unfilled vacancies, and the absence of a permanent Registrar.
Calling for structural reforms, Ahmed urged the government to formulate a comprehensive funds policy aimed at ensuring financial stability and job security for the media fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir.

District Level Youth Festival Successfully Conducted in Poonch

POONCH OCT 30:-The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Poonch, successfully conducted the District Level Youth Festival as part of the selection process for the upcoming 29th National Youth Festival.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all 11 zones of District Poonch, with around 102 participants showcasing their talents in various competitions, including:

Dr. Jasbir Singh, Principal, Government Degree College Poonch, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Allamdar, Cultural Officer, attended as the Guest of Honour.The festival was organized under the supervision of Mr. Mohd Qasim, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Poonch, with Vijay Kumar serving as the Activity Incharge. The event was held under the esteemed leadership of Smt. Anuradha Gupta (JKAS), Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K UT, and the guidance of Smt. Vinakshi Koul (JKAS), Joint Director, YSS.
Speaking on the occasion, DYSSO Poonch Mr. Mohd Qasim appreciated the enthusiasm and talent displayed by the young participants. He reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to nurturing grassroots cultural and social sporting talent across the district and providing a platform for youth to excel at higher levels*.
