    RAJOURI OCT,12:-Taking strong action over poor performance in the implementation of the Aadi Karamyogi Abhiyan, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma (IAS), on Sunday (October 12), suspended three Block Development Officers (BDOs) and ordered an inquiry into the matter.

    As per official orders, the BDOs of Kalakote, Budhal Old (Rajnagar), and Doongi blocks have been suspended and attached to the office of the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri pending inquiry.

    “It has been observed that implementation of the Aadi Karamyogi Abhiyan in Rajouri district has remained unsatisfactory due to poor progress, non-establishment of Sewa Kendras, and uploading of fake and fictitious activities and photographs on the Aadi Parsaran Portal,” the DC’s order stated.

    The orders further noted that despite repeated instructions from the government and the Deputy Commissioner’s office, no substantial improvement was observed in the performance of these blocks, compelling the administration to take disciplinary action.

    “Pending inquiry into the matter, the Block Development Officers of Kalakote, Budhal Old (Rajnagar), and Doongi have been placed under suspension with immediate effect. During the suspension period, the officers shall remain attached to the office of ADDC Rajouri,” read the official suspension orders numbered 90, 91, and 92, issued on Sunday.

    Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma has directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajouri to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and submit a detailed report within seven days.

    RAJOURI OCT 12:-The Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with the District Administration Rajouri, today celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child with great enthusiasm at Dak Bungalow Rajouri.

    Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Shri Abhishek Sharma, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, the DC congratulated all women and girls on this special day and lauded their remarkable contributions in various fields. He highlighted that Dr. Ayushi Sudan became the first lady IAS officer from Rajouri, while this year, Ms. Iram Choudhary brought laurels to the district by becoming the first IFS officer from Rajouri.

    Speaking on the occasion, the DC underscored various initiatives undertaken by the District Administration to promote women empowerment and gender equality. These included the upgradation of JayShree Library under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative at DIC Rajouri, sponsorship programs for children’s education, organization of self-defence training for girl students, and the constitution of Sexual Harassment Committees in all government offices across the district.

    He also urged young girls to remain vigilant against the menace of drugs and to exercise caution while using mobile phones, emphasizing the risks of photo misuse and online exploitation. The DC further informed that steps would be taken to reserve seats for women in public transport to ensure their safety and convenience.

    Students from various educational institutions participated in the event and presented thought-provoking skits and speeches on the theme “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis.”

    Among the notable participants were Namrata Sharma, Principal IDPS Dhanidhar, who addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the District Administration in fostering a safe and inclusive environment for girls. Sanchi Mahajan, daughter of Gourav Mahajan, also participated in the event and received warm applause for her performance.

    The District Administration felicitated several girl achievers for their outstanding accomplishments in education, sports, and social service, recognizing them as role models for the younger generation.

    District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem presented the vote of thanks. Among others present on the occasion were DySP Satish Sharma, DEPO, DYSSO, and other district and sectoral officers.

    SRINAGAR OCT,12:-In a heartwarming gesture of compassion and community service, Smile Foundation NGO organized a Free Marriage Assistance Distribution Program at the Maisuma Marriage Hall, Srinagar, where 50 underprivileged girls received complete marriage assistance kits.

    The event was chaired by Miss Masrat, Chairperson of Smile Foundation, and presided over by Mr. Sajad Sholla, President of Smile Foundation. The program was graced by Prominent Social Worker Syed Aijaz Kashani as the Special Guest, who lauded the foundation’s efforts in promoting simplicity in marriage and extending practical support to economically weaker families.

    The event also witnessed the presence of Valley’s known Social worker and public figure Mr. Umer Wani, Chairman of Helping Hands NGO; Social Worker Ali Mohammad; Political Activists Mr. Omar Hafiz and Mr. Nazir Gilkar; Molana Muzamil Qadri; and Adil Hussain, among others, who all appreciated the noble initiative.
