SRINAGAR OCT 09:-A blood donation camp was organized at Central Jail Srinagar on 8th October 2025, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Kashmir, RED DROP, Children Hospital Bemina, and JNLM Hospital. The event saw the impactful participation of 101 CISF personnel, recognized for their selfless service and dedication to humanitarian causes.

The camp featured active involvement from staff, and volunteers, with CISF personnel playing a leading role as blood donors. The occasion was further highlighted by the presence of noted blood donation champions, Shabbir Hussain (“Blood Man of Kashmir”) and Bilquis Ara (“Blood Woman of Kashmir”), whose participation inspired increased awareness and enthusiasm.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jail, Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, lauded the collaboration, specifically commending the CISF’s unwavering dedication and the spirit of unity displayed by all stakeholders. He noted, “The selfless service shown by CISF personnel stands as an example for all. Their commitment goes far beyond their professional responsibilities and truly strengthens the fabric of our society.”
Deputy Commandant Rakesh Nikhaj expressed gratitude to everyone involved, underscoring how the event set a new benchmark for voluntary service. He remarked that the participation of renowned blood donors and the presence of leaders from healthcare and civic organizations elevated the community spirit and demonstrated the impact of collective effort.

RAJOURI, OCT 09: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Rajouri successfully organized the Inter-Zonal District Level Annual Athletic Meet for Boys (All Age Groups) here at the Sports Stadium.
The stadium came alive with energy and excitement as hundreds of young athletes from different Zones gathered to compete in a wide range of track and field events.
The Participants showcased their talent and determination in races including 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and 800 meters, as well as in field events such as javelin throw, shot put, discus throw, long jump and high jump. Each event reflected the spirit of sportsmanship and unity, with athletes pushing their limits and cheering one another.
The athletic meet not only celebrated physical excellence but also reinforced the department’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive development through sports. The presence of dedicated officials and the overwhelming participation of young athletes highlighted the collective effort to nurture talent and foster inter-zonal camaraderie.
The vibrant event unfolded under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Mohammad Qasim.
The meet was further guided and supported by ZPEO Baljarallan Wali Mohammad. The DYSSO expressed pride in the athletes’ performances and praised the organizing teams for their dedication while Wali Mohammad emphasized the importance of such platforms for grooming future champions and building a stronger, united sporting community in Rajouri.
RAJOURI, OCT 09: The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers’ Welfare today organised a mega Exhibition-cum-Kisan Mela at the District Agriculture Complex, Kheora, under the aegis of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the district.
The programme was presided over by District Development Council Chairperson, Advocate Choudhary Naseem Liaqat, who highlighted the objectives of the event and urged the farming community to take full advantage of the various government schemes aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and improving the socio-economic condition of farmers. He underlined the immense agricultural potential of Rajouri district, noting its diverse agro-climatic conditions that are highly conducive for crop diversification.
“The region’s diverse topography and climate support cultivation of cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fruits and vegetables as well as allied activities like beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, and floriculture, offering farmers vast opportunities to enhance income and ensure sustainable livelihoods” he noted.
The stakeholder departments including Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Industries and others had set up informative stalls showcasing respective schemes and services. The Chief Guest inspected each stall and appreciated the efforts put in to educate and motivate farmers.
Resource persons interacted with farmers, providing detailed insights into the initiatives being implemented in the district to promote sustainable and integrated farming practices.
A magnificent cultural programme was also presented on the occasion, spreading awareness among farmers about different welfare and agricultural schemes in an engaging manner.
Scientist from KVK Arvind Ishar delivered an informative session on the Integrated Farming System, emphasising its benefits for income diversification and long-term sustainability.
The farmers were provided Mustard Seed Kits and Soil Health Cards to promote scientific soil management and enhance productivity. The event served as an effective platform for knowledge exchange and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering the farming community through innovation, awareness and convergence of agricultural services.
Chief Agriculture Officer Madan Gopal Singh; AD Fisheries Bodh Raj, the officers from allied departments and a large number of farmers from across the district attended the event.
