    SRINAGAR AUGUST 27:-The Jammu & Kashmir Nationalist People’s Front (JKNPF) has officially appointed Mohammad Faheem Reshi, son of Shri Fayaz Reshi, resident of Zadi Masjid, Safakadal, Srinagar, as the party’s Treasurer-cum-Media Head.

    In a brief ceremony held at the party’s central office in Srinagar, Mr. Reshi was welcomed by JKNPF President Muneer Khan and Vice President  Jasif Khan. The party leadership stated that his induction into this important role will further strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and improve its media communication and outreach across the Union Territory.

    The JKNPF leadership reiterated its commitment towards unity, integrity, and development in Jammu & Kashmir, expressing confidence that Mr. Reshi will contribute actively to the party’s vision and organisational growth.

    SRINAGAR AUGUST 27:-Legislators, Mr. Saifullah Mir, Mr. Javaid Iqbal Choudhary, Mr. Muzaffar Iqbal Khan, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Mir and Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed called on Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Mr. Javed Ahmed Rana, at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar.

    During the meeting, the legislators held detailed discussion with the Minister on a range of pressing issues concerning public welfare and development in their respective constituencies.

    Matters related to water supply, forest conservation, ecological sustainability, and tribal welfare were prominently raised.

    They emphasized the need for timely redressal of grievances and expedited implementation of key infrastructure and environmental projects.

    Mr. Rana gave a patient hearing to all issues put forth and assured appropriate and time-bound action on each point, and urged the legislators to continue highlighting genuine public issues and collaborate with the administration to ensure delivery of essential services at the grassroots level.

    SRINAGAR AUGUST 27:-In a significant administrative move aimed at strengthening leadership and ensuring uninterrupted delivery of public services, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the placement of eight Incharge Superintending Engineers as Incharge Chief Engineers in the Jal Shakti Department.

    The decision, taken under exceptional circumstances by the department led by Jal Shakti Minister Javed Ahmed Rana, is part of a broader strategy to reinforce managerial oversight and operational efficiency across key infrastructural sectors under the department’s purview.

    The move comes in light of pressing administrative exigencies and the need to ensure continuity in the functioning of critical divisions within the Jal Shakti Department and its allied organizations.

    According to a Ministry spokesperson, the placements have been made to provide leadership support at the Chief Engineer level in view of existing vacancies, without allowing any disruption in project execution or departmental operations.

    As per Government Order No. 204-JK (JSD) of 2025 dated 26.08.2025, issued by Shri Shaleen Kabra, Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, sanction has been accorded for the temporary placement of the eight officers as Incharge Chief Engineers including Er. Mohd Hanief, Er. Showkat Hussain, Er. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Er. Jugal Kishore Nagotra, Er. Naseeb Chand, Er. Dev Raj Bhagat, Er. Zakir Hussain and Er. Muneer Hussain.

    In addition to their elevation, Er. Mohd Hanief has been posted as Incharge Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu, Er. Showkat Hussain as Incharge Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control, Kashmir, Er. Rakesh Kumar Gupta as Incharge Chief Engineer, PHE Kashmir, Er. Jugal Kishore Nagotra as Incharge Chief Engineer, UEED, J&K whereas Er. Naseeb Chand, Er. Dev Raj Bhagat, Er. Zakir Hussain, and Er. Muneer Hussain have been placed at the disposal of JKPDC for further assignment.

    This reshuffle is a strategic measure aimed at improving administrative efficiency, enhancing decision-making at the executive level, and ensuring timely execution of infrastructure and development projects across Jammu & Kashmir.

    Reaffirming the commitment of the Omar Abdullah-led Government to transparency, meritocracy, and institutional integrity, Minister Javed Ahmed Rana emphasized that all personnel decisions have been taken in line with the principles of responsive governance and public accountability.

    “The department remains committed to aligning its human resource strategy with the evolving needs of the sector and the and the public interest. This move reflects our continued effort to strengthen leadership across all levels of the engineering cadre,” the spokesperson added.

    SRINAGAR AUGUST 27:- Minister Jal Shakti Javed Rana and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Sogami conducted an on-ground review of the flood-like situation along the River Jhelum today . Officials have been instructed to remain on high alert, closely monitor vulnerable locations, maintain round-the-clock communication, and activate public announcement systems to ensure timely updates.

    A high-level review meeting was also convened with Divisional Administration to assess flood preparedness across the Kashmir Division. The focus was on a coordinated response, strengthening critical infrastructure, and prioritizing the safety of lives and property.
    Every possible measure is being taken to protect citizens and mitigate risks.

    Murtaza Khan’s mother passed away last week after a brief illness at her residence in Mendhar.

      راجوری اگست27پیپلز ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی (پی ڈی پی) کے سینئ رہنما محمد فاروق انقلابی نے ماتا ویشنو دیوی کے نزدیک حالیہ لینڈ سلائیڈنگ میں قیمتی انسانی جانوں کے ضیاع پر گہرے رنج و غم کا اظہار کیا ہے۔

    اپنے بیان میں انہوں نے جاں بحق افراد کے اہلِ خانہ سے دلی تعزیت کی اور زخمیوں کی جلد صحت یابی کے لیے دعا کی۔ انہوں نے اس سانحے کو “دل دہلا دینے والا المیہ” قرار دیا جس نے پورے علاقے کو سوگوار کر دیا ہے۔

    محمد فاروق انقلابی نے جموں و کشمیر کی انتظامیہ پر شدید تنقید کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ “واضح انتباہات اور علاقے کی کمزوری کے باوجود حکومت نے بروقت اقدام نہیں کیا، جس کے باعث قیمتی جانیں ضائع ہو گئیں۔”

    انہوں نے حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ ہر جاں بحق فرد کے خاندان کو ایک کروڑ روپے ایکس گریشیا معاوضہ دیا جائے تاکہ متاثرہ خاندانوں کو کچھ مالی امداد فراہم ہو اور حکومت کی غفلت کا ازالہ ممکن ہو۔

    انقلابی نے مطالبہ کیا کہ سانحے کی مکمل تحقیقات کی جائیں اور آئندہ ایسی کوتاہیوں سے بچنے کے لیے مؤثر اقدامات کیے جائیں۔ انہوں نے کہا: “ایک مقدس یاترا کی حرمت کے ساتھ ساتھ زائرین کی حفاظت کو بھی یقینی بنایا جانا چاہیے۔ حکومت کو غفلت سے باہر آنا ہوگا۔”

    RAJOURI AUGUST 27:-Prominent People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi, has expressed profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives in the recent landslide near the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

    In a statement issued today, Inqlabi conveyed his solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He called the incident a “heart-wrenching tragedy that has shaken the entire region.”

    The senior PDP leader strongly criticized the Jammu and Kashmir administration for its “complete failure” in launching timely rescue and relief operations. “Despite early warnings and the known vulnerability of the terrain, the authorities failed to act swiftly and effectively. The delayed response cost precious lives,” he said.

    Inqlabi demanded that the government provide ex-gratia compensation of ₹1 crore to the family of each deceased victim, in recognition of the irreparable loss suffered and as a measure of accountability.

    He also called for an immediate inquiry into the lapses and urged the administration to ensure such negligence is not repeated in future. “The sanctity of a holy pilgrimage must be matched by an equal commitment to the safety of the pilgrims. The administration must rise above complacency,” he stressed.
