    SRINAGAR JULY 21:-A devastating fire broke out this evening in the Aramwari Zero Bridge area of Rajbagh, Srinagar, causing severe damage to several residential houses. Naima Sara, PDP Women’s Wing District President Srinagar, has called on the local administration to provide urgent compensation and rehabilitation to the affected families.

    The fire reportedly started at the residence of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, son of the late Habibullah Dar, and quickly spread to nearby homes. Locals have raised concerns about delays in the arrival of fire tenders, which may have contributed to the rapid spread of the flames. Fire and Emergency Services teams are actively working to control the blaze and prevent further destruction.

    Expressing deep sympathy for the victims, Naima Sara stated, “The losses suffered by the families in Rajbagh are heartbreaking. It is imperative that the administration acts swiftly to provide financial aid, temporary shelter, and all necessary support to help these families rebuild their lives.” She has appealed directly to the Honorable Chief Minister of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to ensure immediate relief measures are put in place.

    The PDP Women’s Wing District Srinagar stands in solidarity with all those affected and will continue to advocate for their rights and welfare during this difficult time.

    RAJOURI, JULY 21:- Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation status of the flagship schemes in the district.

    The review meeting covered a wide range of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and other Government initiatives, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, AMRUT 2.0, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, PMAY-Urban 2.0, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban and Grameen), National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM), PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Bharat Net, Lakhpati Didi, POSHAN 2.0, PM Adarsh Gram Yojana, SWAMITVA, PM SHRI Schools, and Computerisation of Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS), in addition to the Jammu–Akhnoor–Poonch National Highway Project.

    While reviewing the PM SHRI (Schools for Rising India) initiative, the Chief Education Officer presented a school-wise status report. The Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over the low expenditure levels in some institutions and directed the concerned officers to take immediate corrective measures to ensure timely and optimal utilization of allocated funds. He also reviewed the physical progress of ongoing infrastructure and development works under the scheme.

    Highlighting the district’s strides in digital governance, the DC was informed that 100 percent computerisation of PACS has been achieved in Rajouri. Under the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA ID) initiative, the district has attained 67 percent coverage, with the DC instructing concerned departments to intensify efforts to achieve complete saturation within stipulated timelines.

    The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed the implementation of social security schemes such as the PM Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Jeevan Bima Yojana, and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, stressing the importance of timely saturation of beneficiaries. He directed the officers to adopt targeted outreach campaigns to ensure that no eligible individual is left out.

    Taking stock of PMAY-Urban and Swachh Bharat Mission Urban, the DC instructed officers to address bottlenecks affecting timely execution and maintain strict adherence to deadlines. He laid emphasis on inter-departmental coordination and robust field-level monitoring to ensure seamless and effective implementation of all schemes.

    The meeting witnessed the participation of key district officers including Chief Planning Officer Maqsood Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Sheraz Chowhan, Assistant Commissioner Defence Israr Ahmed, Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem, Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Sharma, Tehsildar Thanamandi, Executive Officers of Municipalities, and other concerned officials.
