    Soldier Dies of Gunshot Injury Under Suspicious Circumstances in Rajouri

    RAJOURI JULY 05:-A soldier died under suspicious circumstances after sustaining a gunshot injury inside an Army camp at Solki, under the jurisdiction of Dharamsal police station in Rajouri district.
    The incident occurred between 6 and 7 pm on Saturday at a Rashtriya Rifles camp.
    Following the gunshot, the soldier — identified as Sepoy Uppala Ravi — was immediately rushed to a hospital in Sunderbani. After preliminary treatment, he was referred to the Associated Hospital, Government Medical College (GMC), Rajouri.
    Sources said an attempt to commit suicide cannot be ruled out in this case. However, Ravi succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to GMC Rajouri.
    Dharamsal police have initiated inquest proceedings into the tragic incident.

    RAJOURI JULY 05:-Four individuals, ireportedly government employees, have been booked and arrested by Nowshera police for physically assaulting and using abusive and unparliamentary language against police officers—including women—during a routine traffic check at Thalka Naka on the Jammu-Poonch highway around 6 PM on Friday.
    The accused have been identified as Romi Sharma and Sanjeev Singh, both residents of Siot, and Sachit Sharma and Abhishek, both residents of Sunderbani. They have been booked under Sections 132, 352, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
    Sources said the four were traveling in a car (JK11H-0254) from Rajouri towards Jammu when they were stopped for checking by police personnel at Thalka Naka.
    During the vehicle inspection and questioning, the occupants allegedly became aggressive, used abusive and unparliamentary language, and physically assaulted the officers in an attempt to obstruct them from performing their duties.
    The altercation disrupted official work and posed a threat to public order.
    Following the incident, a case (FIR No. 88/2025) was registered at Nowshera Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
