    Top District Officials Laud the Initiative for Promoting Peace and Communal Harmony

    RAJOURI APRIL 06:-In a unique and solemn observance, members of Sangarsh Movement and Rotary Club Grand Rajouri undertook a one-day ‘Self-Purification Fast’ at Shaheedi Chowk (Gujjar Mandi) near ALG Rajouri, as part of the ongoing week-long Rajouri Day celebrations. The initiative was aimed at paying tribute to the martyrs of the 1947–48 Pakistani Kabaili attack and spreading the message of peace, tolerance, and communal harmony.

    The fasting members described the act as a spiritual homage to the brave soldiers and civilians who laid down their lives defending the sovereignty and integrity of the Peer Panchal region, ultimately ensuring its inclusion in the Indian Union.

    Speaking on the occasion, participants highlighted the cultural and religious significance of fasting across faiths such as Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, and Jainism. They emphasized that while traditionally seen as a path to inner cleansing, the day’s fast was dedicated to societal healing and unity.

    Earlier in the day, floral tributes were paid at the Shaheedi Stambh, where speakers recalled the brutalities inflicted by Pakistan-sponsored tribal invaders during the 1947-48 aggression. They also reflected on the spirit of communal solidarity that prevailed during that time, underscoring how people from diverse backgrounds rose together in resistance.

    Later in the evening, the fast was ceremonially broken with juice offered by DIG Rajouri Tejinder Singh, District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma (IAS), and SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar (IPS). The dignitaries commended the organizing groups for their meaningful and peaceful initiative to honor the legacy of sacrifice and resilience.

    Among those who addressed the gathering were Vikrant Sharma, Dr. Sachin Vaid, Kanav Badyal, Rakesh Gupta, Advocate Ashan Mirza, Muneer Mirza, and Lokesh Bakshi.

    Prominent participants in the fast included Dr. Gopal Sharma, Vishal Sharma, Rajesh Mehta, Rahul Chandan, Ashish Bhasin, Nishant Vasudev, Waseem Anjum, Aaman Zari, Rajinder Sharma, Mushtaq Lone, Shiv Dutta, Rohit Gupta, Tilak Sudan, Varunesh Kumar, Zabar Ahmed, Sharukh Khan, Vikrant Verma, Ankur Gupta, Nameet Bhari, Sudhir Sharma, and many others.

    The event served as a solemn reminder of the region’s historic struggle and the enduring need for peace and unity in today’s times.

    RAJOURI, APRIL 06:-The auspicious occasion of Ram Navami was celebrated with immense religious fervour and devotion across Rajouri, bringing together people from all walks of life in a spirit of unity and piety.

    Devotees gathered in large numbers to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Ram with grandeur and enthusiasm.

    The highlight of the celebrations was the grand Ram Navami procession, which commenced from the Sanatan Dharam Sabha Temple and traversed through the main market before returning back. The procession was graced by the presence of DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Tejinder Singh; Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Sikarwar, who accompanied the devotees and participated in the celebrations.

    Devotees chanted bhajans and hymns throughout the route, infusing the atmosphere with devotion and spiritual energy. The streets echoed with the sounds of conch shells, drums, and devotional songs, enhancing the festive spirit.

    The Deputy Commissioner extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion and urged all to imbibe the values and ideals of Lord Ram, which emphasize truth, righteousness, and compassion. He praised the communal harmony witnessed during the event.

    SSP also conveyed his greetings and expressed satisfaction over the peaceful and well-coordinated conduct of the event.

    Later, the Deputy Commissioner also visited the revered Manma Mata Temple in Kalakote and the Ram Temple in Nowshera to pay his obeisance. He was accompanied by ADC Kalakote and ADC Nowshera respectively during these visits.

    The district administration and security forces had made elaborate arrangements for the comfort and security of the participants. First-aid stations, drinking water facilities, and traffic management were efficiently handled to facilitate hassle-free participation.

    The celebrations culminated with special prayers and offerings at the Sanatan Dharam Sabha Temple, marking a successful and joyous Ram Navami in Rajouri.

    JAMMU APRIL 06:-Several Socio-Political Activists in Jammu today strongly condemned the Waqf Amendment Bill passed in both the houses of parliament on 2nd and 3rd April.

    Addressing a joint press conference in Jammu Safeer Choudhary AAP Senior leader, Mir Shahid Saleem and Advocate Talib Hussain said Waqf Amendment Bill was passed violating the fundamental and religious rights of the Indian Muslims.

    Addressing the media persons senior AAP leader Safeer Chowdahry said BJP/RSS government was hell bent upon snatching away the constitutional guarantees from the Indian Muslim on the one pretext or the other. He said after coming to power in 2014 the RSS backed govt has made several laws including NRC, CAA, UCC and now Waqf Bill to target Indian Muslims. He said by amending the Waqf Bill the BJP Govt has taken away all the safeguards to make the way for open loot of the waqf properties.

    Mr. Safeer Chowdhary also condemned the action of some RSS agents welcoming this draconian law in the name of Kashmir Tribals. He said the Gujjar Bakerwal community of the Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemns this bill and we also warn RSS agents not to use the names of the Kashmir triblas for their dirty politics. He also thanked to the opposition parties who exposed the anti Muslim agenda of the BJP Govt.

    Mr. Safeer chowdhary also extended complete support to the anti Waqf Amendment Bill agitation headed by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and other organizations.
