    SRINAGAR MAR 21(KNO):- Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo Friday visited Kadipora, Anantnag, to express solidarity with the families affected by the devastating fire incident yesterday.

    MLAs Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, Abdul Majeed Larmi and Altaf Ahmad Wani, DC Anantnag Syed Fakhruddin Hamid and other senior officers of district administration also accompanied the Minister.

    During the visit, Sakeena personally interacted with the victims, assessed their grievances and took stock of the ongoing relief measures.

    While interacting with the affected families on the occasion, the Minister assured them all possible assistance from the government. “On the directions of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, my team of MLAs are here to stand in solidarity with you. Our government will provide you all possible support and assistance to overcome this tragic loss”, Sakeena stated.

    She added that the Chief Minister is personally monitoring the relief measures and was in constant contact with the district administration from last night to gather on ground details of this devastating fire incident. “The tragic loss suffered by fire affected families is heart-wrenching and cannot be compensated in words. But our government is shoulder to shoulder with you in this hour of distress and will ensure that all necessary aid and support reaches you without delay”, she said.

    The Minister also urged the Deputy Commissioner to expedite the rehabilitation process. She emphasized on the need for immediate relief, including temporary shelter, food supplies and financial aid to help the victims rebuild their lives.

    She also called upon the district administration to conduct a thorough assessment of damages and provide swift compensation to the affected households.

    While addressing the concerns of local residents and fire victims regarding need for preventive measures to avert such incidents in future, Sakeena Itoo assured them that the government will look out the possibility for decongesting this locality besides fire safety infrastructure in the locality will also be enhanced.

    Later, the Minister also chaired a meeting with the senior officers of district administration and took detailed assessment of relief as well as immediate rehabilitation measures.

    During the meeting, the Minister impressed upon the Deputy Commissioner to ensure temporary shelter facilities for these fire affected families. She asked the district administration to arrange suitable bedding and other essential things for these victims.

    The Minister also gave directions for providing timber to affected families on immediate basis in order to make them sustainable.

    Sakeena called upon the officers to keep a medical team available to deal with any kind of exigency. She also asked the officers of health department to keep sufficient stock of medicines and other essential equipments available.

    The Minister further called upon the district administration for immediate assessment of the losses and make swift arrangement for due assistance to affected families.

    Pertinently, in a devastating fire incident, more than 30 houses affecting around 45 families were gutted in congested old town Kadipora of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district—(KNO)

    RAJOURI MAR 21:-The district Unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Rajouri district expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the mother of Ex-MLC Vibodh Gupta and Vinod Gupta. VHP District President Kewal Sharma and District General Secretary Gourav Mahajan extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, offering prayers for the departed soul.

    In a statement, Kewal Sharma conveyed his sympathies, acknowledging the irreplaceable loss suffered by the Gupta family. He highlighted the values of love, care, and strength that a mother brings to her family, emphasizing that such a loss leaves an emotional void that cannot be filled.

    RAJOURI MAR 21:-Rajouri Police Apprehend Two Persons with approx 3.6 Kgs Charas like Narcotic Substance

    In a major crackdown on drug trafficking Rajouri Police apprehended two individuals during a Naka checking at ITI Sunderbani. A police party from PS Sunderbani while conducting routine checking intercepted a private vehicle (ECCO) bearing registration number JK11D/8341 traveling from Jammu to Rajouri.

    During the search the police recovered approx 3.6 kg of a charas-like narcotic substance* from their possession. The accused have been identified as Liaqat Hussain* S/O Gulam Hussain resident of Kotdhara Rajouri and Aftab Hussain S/O Fazal Hussain resident of Sarano Rajouri.

    In this regard a case FIR No. 15/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani and investigation taken up.

    Further investigation in this case is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages of the drug network.

    Rajouri Police remain committed to combating drug-related crimes and urge the public to cooperate in the fight against drug trafficking. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station.

    UDHAMPUR MAR 21:-Acting tough against terror supporters in the district, Udhampur Police have detained and lodged a hard-core terror associate under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA).

    The accused has been identified as Farooq Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Sadrota, Tehsil Lohai Malhar, District Kathua. He was involved in providing logistical support to terrorist groups and actively worked as a guide and facilitator for terrorist organizations.

    Strong evidence and past records confirm his involvement in aiding and facilitating terrorist groups. In view of his activities, authorities have detained him under the Public Safety Act.

    UDHAMPUR MAR 21:-As part of the ongoing drive against drug abuse in District Udhampur, a joint team of officials from the Drug and Food Control Organisation Udhampur and the Police Department conducted regulatory inspections of medical shops.

    The inspection team was led by Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Assistant Drug Controller Udhampur/Ramban, along with Drug Control Officers Rakesh Singh Slathia (Udhampur HQ) and Narinder Pravesh (Ramnagar). The police team was headed by SHO Raghuveer Singh, SI Abhinav Bhatti, and accompanying police personnel, including a lady constable.

    The inspections were initiated based on specific information regarding M/s D.K Medicos, Airforce Road, Udhampur, which was allegedly involved in selling Schedule H1 drugs without following the mandatory procedures. Upon inspection, the proprietor Deep Kumar admitted to not maintaining any sale records via CBS (Centralized Billing System).

    Following the violations observed under Section 22D of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the premises were sealed on the spot in the presence of police officials. A show-cause notice was issued to the proprietor.

    Further investigation is underway
