  • Inqlabi Slams NC-led Jammu and Kashmir Govt’s Budget, Calls it ‘Cheating’ with the People, Especially Youth and Daily Wagers

Inqlabi Slams NC-led Jammu and Kashmir Govt’s Budget, Calls it ‘Cheating’ with the People, Especially Youth and Daily Wagers

    GNS ONLINE NEWS PORTAL

SRINAGAR MAR 07:-Senior PDP leader, Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi, today expressed strong disapproval of the budget presented by the NC-led Jammu and Kashmir government, terming it as a betrayal to the people of the region, particularly the unemployed youth and daily wagers.

Inqlabi, while speaking to the media, criticized the budget for failing to address the pressing issues faced by the unemployed youth, daily wagers, and workers in various departments like Public Health Engineering (PHE), Power Development Department (PDD), Forest, and others. He emphasized that the government’s allocation of resources was insufficient and did not offer any substantial relief to the vulnerable sections of society.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth, have been left to suffer under this budget. The promises made by the government have remained unfulfilled, and the financial assistance for daily wagers working in key departments like PHE, PDD, and Forest is almost non-existent. This budget is a complete betrayal of the people,” Inqlabi remarked.

Farooq Inqlabi further criticized the government’s decision to provide 200 units of electricity only to the AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) category households, calling it “absolutely cheating” with the remaining 99% of the population of Jammu and Kashmir. He argued that such a move would only deepen the economic disparity and burden the majority of the people who rely on regular electricity usage for their daily needs.

Inqlabi also questioned Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, reminding him of the promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir during his earlier campaigns. “Omar Abdullah promised the people of Jammu and Kashmir 12 free gas cylinders every year, 200 units of free electricity to each family, 2 lakh government jobs for unemployed youth, and the regularization of all daily wagers. However, now he has announced a budget without any substantial provisions to fulfill those promises. Where is the accountability for these unfulfilled commitments?” Inqlabi asked.

He further called for immediate action from the government to address the growing concerns of unemployment and economic instability, which, according to him, have exacerbated the already difficult situation in the region.
