    JAMMU MAR 02:– In an unusual cross-border union, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) employee, has married a Pakistani national via an online video conference.

    Muneer Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed, a resident of Handwal village near Rabta Tehsil in Bhalwal, serving in 72nd Battalion CRPF, is currently stationed in Shiv Khouri Ransoo, Reasi district. His bride, Menal Khan, daughter of Mohd Asgar Khan, hails from Kotli Faqir Chand, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan.

    Menal Khan his bride, arrived in India late last night after securing a 15-day entry permit from authorities. She was received by her in-laws at the Wagah Border in Punjab and escorted to her husband’s residence in Handwal village.

    The groom’s family has in the meantime also confirmed that all legal protocols for Menal’s entry were followed, with necessary permission.

    SUNDERBANI, MAR 02:- Government Degree College Sunderbani today organised an awareness camp under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma. The event aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of substance abuse and to promote a drug-free society.

    Principal Government Degree College Sunderbani Ashu Vashishat was the chief guest on the occasion. The camp was presided over by the District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Raheem.

    The occasion was further graced by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Block Development Officer, Child Development Project Officer, Zonal Education Officer and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Professors from GDC Sunderbani, officials from District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Social Welfare Department, as well as Aanganwadi and ASHA Workers were also present.

    The event also saw active participation of more than 300 students, who took part in the awareness campaign. Another highlight of the event was the involvement of Shakti Udghosh, an NGO that is conducting an all-women motorbike expedition from Kathua to Poonch to spread awareness about the perils of drug abuse. Their efforts were lauded by the attendees, as they demonstrated their commitment to educating the masses on this crucial issue.

    The District Social Welfare Officer emphasized the importance of community participation in the fight against drug addiction. He urged everyone present to be proactive in their approach towards building a drug-free society.

    The Chief Guest expressed gratitude for the collective efforts of all those working to bring about awareness on such an important issue and reiterated the college’s commitment to supporting similar initiatives in the future.

    The event included active Participation from students as well in the form of Nukkad Natak, Songs, Poetry on the theme of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan which helped in enlightening the students and the local community about the dangers of drug addiction and the need for prevention.

    RAJOURI MAR 02:-In a landmark step towards digital policing Rajouri Police has registered its first Electronic First Information Report (e-FIR) following a complaint lodged via WhatsApp.

    A complainant from a far-flung area of the district was unable to visit the police station. However having attended an awareness program on New Criminal Laws organized by Rajouri Police he learned that an FIR can also be lodged through e-mail and digital platforms. Acting on this knowledge he submitted his complaint via WhatsApp.

    In response Police Station Dharamsal swiftly registered the
    e-FIR. This prompt action highlights Rajouri Police’s commitment to leveraging digital technology for efficient accessible and people-centric policing.

    This initiative underscores the Rajouri Police’s dedication to ensuring swift grievance redressal especially by adopting digital platforms the police aims to enhance transparency, accessibility and responsiveness in handling public grievances.

    The final match held on MMarch 01, 2025 was a thrilling contest between *Jamola Kabaddi Club* and *Kotranka Kabaddi Club* where *Jamola Kabaddi Club* emerged victorious with a commanding lead of 21 points.

    Following the culmination of the final match Tejinder Singh IPS DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Headquarters Rajouri along with Gaurav Sikarwar IPS SSP Rajouri, Satish Kumar Dy.SP Headquarters Rajouri, Akshay Khajuria Dy.SP DAR Rajouri and Pawan Sharma Dy.SP Staff Officer RPHQ Rajouri honored the players for their dedication skill and perseverance.
