    RAJOURI, FEB 23:– The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) successfully conducted the JK Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination in Rajouri district today. The examination was held at four designated centers, including the Government Degree College (GDC) Rajouri, HEM College Thandikassi, GBHSS Rajouri and GGHSS Rajouri.

    To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination, observers were deployed by the JKPSC and the district administration Rajouri.

    On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar Khajuria oversaw the arrangements to ensure that the examination was conducted smoothly and in a hassle-free manner.

    Elaborate arrangements were made to facilitate the smooth conduct of the examination. These included provision of adequate seating, proper sanitation facilities, and strict security arrangements. The examination was conducted in a fair and transparent manner, with all necessary precautions in place to prevent any malpractices. The district administration and the JKPSC officials worked in close coordination to ensure that the examination was conducted smoothly and without any issues.

    RAJOURI FEB 23:Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) marked International Mother Language Day with great enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to linguistic diversity and cultural heritage. The event, organized by the Department of Urdu, School of Languages, featured a series of programs aimed at highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting mother languages.

    Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, in his address, emphasized the crucial role of linguistic diversity in fostering inclusive societies. He underscored the significance of mother languages in preserving cultural identity and encouraged students to take pride in their linguistic roots. Prof. Iqbal highlighted that languages form the foundation of communication, culture, and identity, stressing the need to safeguard regional languages for future generations. He further noted that in the era of globalization, linguistic diversity must be celebrated to promote unity, inclusivity, and mutual understanding among communities.

    The event featured paper presentations and poetry recitations in various regional languages, showcasing the richness of linguistic heritage. A Mushaira was also organized, where poets from the University fraternity captivated the audience with their literary expressions celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity.

    Among those present were Dr. A. A. Shah, Dean of Students; Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum, Head, Department of Arabic; Prof. Anjum Awam, Chair Professor, CGPKL; Dr. Liaqat Nayyar, and Dr. Asif Malik, Assistant Professors, Department of Urdu.

    The celebration reaffirmed BGSBU’s commitment to promoting linguistic heritage and fostering academic discourse on multilingualism.

  • Woman Shot Herself With 12 Bore Gun In Rajouri District

    RAJOURI FEB 23:-A 21 Year-Old woman allegedly shot herself with a 12 bore gun at her home in Bhajwal area of Sunderbani in Rajouri ddistrict today.

    Officials told that a woman namely Shivani Devi daughter of Gurdhar Lal resident of Upper Bhajwal shot allegedly herself with a licensed 12 Bore gun at home.

    She sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to SDM Sunderbani, where doctors referred her to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment.

    Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.
