    District Administration Rajouri Facilitates Return of 62 Families of Badhaal from Lodgement Centres

    RAJOURI FEB 13 :-The District Administration Rajouri, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, successfully facilitated the return of 62 families of Badhaal village comprising 330 individuals (152 males and 178 females) from the lodgement centres at BHSS and Nursing College after a stay of 22 days.

    DC Rajouri appreciated the coordinated efforts of all departments in ensuring the well-being of these families during their stay. He also thanked the affected persons for their cooperation and patience throughout the period.*

    To ensure a safe and smooth transition, all departments created awareness among the families regarding necessary precautions post-departure. Additionally, the ration already available at their houses will be sealed and shifted to a secure location under the supervision of ADC Kotranka. The administration has also provided ration kits for immediate use, and routine ration distribution will continue in their respective villages.

    As a welfare measure, DC Rajouri handed over labour cards to eligible beneficiaries among these families. Furthermore, 10 cases under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) were registered during their stay at the lodgement centres and will be processed on priority.

    In terms of health and safety, the Food Safety and Drug Inspector was directed to maintain records of collected samples and ensure follow-ups until the results are received. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was instructed to deploy a dedicated health team at Badhal for regular medical check-ups.

    To facilitate the return of livestock, officials of the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department were stationed at Badhal to ensure the smooth handover of domestic animals to their owners.

    Infrastructure and essential services were also prioritized. The PHE Department was directed to continue tanker services, ensure the cleaning of storage tanks, and operationalize the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme within a week. The Power Development Department (PDD) was instructed to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply.

    To maintain security and monitoring, ADC Kotranka and SP Kotranka were directed to keep records of vehicles entering and leaving Badhal village. Meanwhile, the District Information Officer (DIO) was tasked with preserving CCTV footage of food preparation and distribution at the lodgement centres.

    During their stay, teachers and Anganwadi workers were deployed to provide education to children, while doctors ensured healthcare services. The departing families expressed their gratitude to the District Administration, especially DC Rajouri, for their support and care. They also acknowledged the dedication of Animal and Sheep Husbandry employees who looked after their livestock in Badhal.

    The occasion was attended by ADDC Rajouri Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, PO ICDS Mohd Fareed Kohli, ACP Sheraz Chouhan, DSEO Sandeep Sharma, Dy DEO Shakeel Ahmed, Ex En PDD Mohd Rasheed, CMO Manohar Rana, AD FCS & CA, ALC, and other district and sectoral officers.

    RAJOURI FEB 12:-Within 24 hours of suspected sniper fire from across the LoC (PoJK side) in which a soldier sustained shoulder injury in Kalal- Nowshera area, a Captain and a Naik attained martyrdom in a suspected IED blast in Laleali forward location in Keri-Battal area under the jurisdiction of Khour Police station (Akhnoor) on Tuesday evening.
    The martyrs have been identified as Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi and Naik Mukesh.
    Sources said few other soldiers were also injured in the blast and are under treatment in Army hospital.
    White Knight Corps in a post on X said: “Suspected IED blast reported in Laleali in Akhnoor sector during a fence patrol resulting in two fatalities. Own troops are dominating the area and search operations are underway”.
    “White Knight Corps salutes and pays tribute to the supreme sacrifice of two gallant soldiers”.
    Another post by Northern Command read: “Lt Gen Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander Northern Command and all ranks of Dhruva Command solemnly salute the supreme sacrifice of Brave hearts Capt Karamjit Singh Bakshi and Naik Mukesh in a suspected IED blast in Akhnoor”.
    “Dhruva Command stands firm with the bereaved family in this hour of grief”.
    The Army has not clarified who had planted the IED on the patrolling track along the fence.
    Both the incidents happened after GOC White Knight Corps along with GOCs Crossed Swords and 25 Infantry Division visited forward areas of Rajouri sector on February 10 for an operational update on the prevailing security situation and hostile activities.
    Either the Pakistan Army’s BAT members or the terrorists had planted the IED to push the terrorists to this side of LoC.
    Recently in the KG sector of Poonch several members of a BAT team were killed in an IED blast on the PoJK side.
    On January 30 two terrorists were killed in Poonch. On February 8, Indian army foiled an infiltration attempt in Keri sector after terrorists fired upon an Indian patrol party.
    Havildar Pooran Singh received a bullet injury on the shoulder from the PoJK side in Kalak area of Nowshera on February 11.
    Regular incidents of skirmishes during the last about 15 days has increased tension between both the armies along the Line of Control after the cease fire agreement.
