Farooq Inqlabi Submits Memorandum Regarding Corruption in Rural Development Department Rajouri

BUDHAL-RAJOURI FEB 11:Senior PDP leader Muhammad Farooq Inqlabi today submitted a detailed memorandum to the Tehsildar Kotranka through the Naib Tehsildar Budhal highlighting widespread corruption within the Rural Development Department (RDD) Block Budhal New. The memorandum specifically addresses the illegal practice of demanding excessive amounts of money from poor and innocent residents in exchange for Birth and Death certificates.

While speaking to the media at Budhal, Inqlabi raised serious concerns regarding the situation, revealing that large sums of money are being extorted from the applicants under the guise of Government fees. He stated that these payments are being made without providing any receipts to the individuals who pay. Inqlabi cited the example of one such applicant, Mohammad Farooq, son of Yaqoob, who was made to pay Rs. 3060 in cash as government fees. When Mohammad Farooq demanded a receipt for the payment, the concerned officials refused to provide one.

Inqlabi expressed his distress over the exploitation of vulnerable people, especially in rural areas, and called for immediate investigation and action against the concerned officials. He emphasized that this corrupt practice has been going on for an extended period, causing immense financial burden on the residents of Block Budhal.

In addition, Inqlabi demanded the issuance of a clear circular regarding the official government fees for issuing Birth and Death certificates to ensure transparency and prevent the exploitation of poor people. He stressed that such measures are essential to safeguard the rights of the public and ensure that innocent individuals do not fall victim to corruption.

Inqlabi also questioned why the officials are still accepting government fees in cash, despite the government’s priority to transition all payments to online modes. He pointed out that with online payments being the established procedure for government transactions, there is no justification for receiving cash payments, which only fosters opportunities for corruption and exploitation.

The PDP leader urged the administration to take strict measures to ensure that government procedures are transparent and that citizens are not subjected to unfair practices. He also called on the authorities to hold the responsible officials accountable to protect the financial interests of the common people.

No Chances of Forming Govt with NC: LoP Sunil Sharma

Will Seek Answers from NC-Led Govt Over Election Promises in Upcoming Assembly Session”

SRINAGAR FEB 11:-Leader of the opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly, Sunil Kumar Sharma, on Tuesday said there are no chances of the BJP allying with the National Conference (NC) to form a government in J&K. Sharma emphasized that the party would seek answers from the government over issues faced by the common masses in the Union Territory.

In an exclusive chat with (KNO), Sharma asserted that there is no question of forming a government with the NC. “We are in opposition, and we will play a role of constructive opposition and seek answers from the Omar Abdullah-led government over issues faced by the general public,” said Sharma, who is considered close to top BJP leadership.

Sharma, who played a key role in the BJP’s best-ever performance in the J&K polls in 2024 and campaigned for the party in the Delhi polls, accused Omar Abdullah of being non-serious about governance issues. “The common masses are suffering due to the apathetic attitude of the NC-led government. There is nobody on the ground to listen to the woes and sufferings of common people in Jammu, Doda-Kishtwar, or even in Kashmir. CM Omar Abdullah is always in picnicking mode. Hosting lunches and dinners in five-star hotels of Delhi will not ease the sufferings of common masses of Jammu & Kashmir,” he said, adding that corruption has started to take roots in government departments.

Sharma said that the BJP will leave no stone unturned to raise the issues of common masses within and outside the Assembly. “We will hold the government accountable over its electoral promises ranging from free electricity to 12 gas cylinders to free ration. They cannot deceive and hoodwink the gullible masses of J&K. They will have to give answers for each and every promise made by them to the public,” he said.

However, he added that they wouldn’t allow any anti-constitution or anti-national bill or resolution on the floor of the House. “We will oppose any such move tooth and nail,” he said.—
