    SRINAGAR FEB 10:-Smile Foundation, a leading NGO dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities, is proud to announce the opening of its new branch in Pulwama. President Sajjad Ahmad Sholla and Chairperson Masrat Jan visited the site today to the inaugurate this pivotal expansion.

    The new branch in Pulwama is part of Smile Foundation’s mission to extend its support and services to more regions, responding to the pressing needs of local communities. The foundation aims to empower children, women, and marginalized groups through targeted programs focusing on education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihood initiatives.

    RAJOURI FEB 10:-The District Police Rajouri organized an awareness program on the New Criminal Laws Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). The event aimed to educate students and faculty members about the key provisions and implications of these newly enacted laws.

    The program was attended by SP Operations Thanamandi, Dy.SP Headquarters Rajouri,Sr. PO DPO Rajouri faculty members and students of BGSB University.

    RAJOURI, FEB 10: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, conducted an extensive visit to Block Panjgrain to review the status of ongoing developmental works under CAPEX, CD&PYT, SSY and MGNREGA.

    The ADDC inspected various project sites and directed the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of work while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards. He emphasized the timely execution of projects to prevent any lapse of funds, instructing officials to complete all works before the conclusion of the current financial year.

    Dr. Thapa also interacted with field staff and took stock of any challenges hindering the smooth implementation of development schemes. He reiterated the district administration’s commitment to ensuring effective utilization of funds for sustainable infrastructure development in rural areas.

    The ADDC was accompanied by District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Rajouri, Mohd Nawaz and Block Development Officer (BDO) Panjgrain, Sanjay Kapoor, among other officials.

    RAJOURI, FEB 10:Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall, DC Office to review the progress made in the promotion and registration for PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The scheme aims to promote solar energy adoption and provide affordable electricity to consumers.

    During the meeting, the DC directed officials to identify beneficiaries paying electricity bills exceeding ₹ 2,000 per month and prioritize them under the scheme after imparting adequate awareness. He emphasized the need for an intensive door-to-door awareness campaign to educate the public about the benefits of the initiative.

    To strengthen enforcement, ADCs, ACD, and SDMs were instructed to increase monitoring in their respective jurisdictions to keep check on power pilferage, theft. Additionally, they were directed to inspect commercial units, including crushers and welding shops to check compliance with electricity regulations.

    The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the installation of smart meters to enhance transparency and efficiency in power consumption. He further instructed JPDCL to assign daily targets to JEs for registering beneficiaries and mandated their on-boarding to expedite the registration process.

    The meeting was attended by ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan, CPO Maqsood Ahmed, SE PDD, Ex En PDD Abdul Rasheed and other district and sectoral officers.
