Yaqoob Dunoo Urges Government to Prioritize Investment in IT Infrastructure Over Welfare Schemes

SRINAGAR JAN 10:-National Loktantrik Party (NLP) spokesperson Yaqoob Dunoo has criticized the government’s emphasis on welfare schemes while overlooking the urgent need for IT sector development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Muhammad Yaqoob Dunoo, speaking on behalf of the party, highlighted the struggles of local youth who are forced to migrate to cities like Gurgaon and Bangalore in search of employment opportunities. “It would be better if the government took the initiative to invest in the IT sector,” he stated. “If IT setups are established in Jammu and Kashmir, it would undoubtedly benefit the region’s young population and prevent this exodus.”

The spokesperson pointed out that the absence of IT infrastructure in the region not only limits career opportunities but also imposes significant financial and emotional burdens on students and professionals. “By focusing on IT sector development rather than solely relying on welfare schemes, the government could help the youth save both time and money while addressing their career aspirations,” Dunoo added.

He urged the central government to take immediate action, emphasizing that establishing IT hubs would create job opportunities and foster technological advancement in Jammu and Kashmir. Dunoo called for strategic planning and investment in IT infrastructure that could align with the ambitions of the region’s youth and reduce their reliance on other states for employment.

“A thriving IT sector in Jammu and Kashmir could serve as a foundation for economic growth, innovation, and the empowerment of local talent,” Dunoo said, stressing the potential for long-term development if such initiatives are prioritized.

Concluding his remarks, Dunoo appealed to the government to act promptly. “The youth of Jammu and Kashmir deserve opportunities at their doorstep. It is time for the central government to intervene and establish IT infrastructure in the region to secure their future,” he asserted.

The National Loktantrik Party’s statement brings attention to the critical need for sustainable development policies that cater to the aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth and promote economic progress in the Union Territory.
