    RAJOURI NOV 24:-The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit (SD/SW) of Govt. P.G. College, Rajouri, marked the 77th Anniversary of NCC Raising Day with a spirited celebration, under the esteemed patronage of Principal Dr. K.K. Sharma and the guidance of NCC Officers Major Tanwir Ahmed and Prof. Salma Farooq.

    The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the chief guest, Dr. K.K. Sharma, by Prof. Salma Farooq. In her address, Prof. Farooq emphasized the significant role of NCC cadets in fostering discipline and unity within society. She further elaborated on the pivotal contributions of NCC cadets in community development, highlighting their active engagement in social service.

    Cadets from both the Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) took the stage, delivering powerful speeches that underscored their duties in nation-building and community service. The speeches focused particularly on the theme “Blood Donation: Need and Benefits,” underscoring the importance of blood donation as a life-saving activity and its potential to make a profound impact on society.

    Dr. K.K. Sharma, in his speech, reflected on the integral role of NCC in shaping the personalities of youth. He stressed that NCC cultivates a spirit of patriotism and prepares cadets to serve the nation in various capacities, including community service and national defense. Dr. Sharma also lauded the dedication of Prof. Salma Farooq, Major Tanveer Ahmad, and the cadets for organizing such a vibrant and meaningful celebration.     The health camp, run by the medical department of Naushera ADS, provided free medical treatment and essential medicines to those in need. The initiative received an overwhelming response, particularly from women, who turned out in large numbers to benefit from the healthcare services.

    RAJOURI NOV 24:-Department of Civil Engineering at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) organized an industrial visit to the Salal Hydro Electric Project for B.Tech 5th Semester students on 23rd November 2024.

    This initiative aimed to provide students with pRractical exposure to hydroelectric power systems, enhancing their understanding of civil engineering concepts. The visit was facilitated by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).

    Prof. Jawaid Iqbal,Vice Chancellor of BGSBU, emphasized the importance of experiential learning, stating, “Such visits equip students with skills and knowledge to tackle real-world challenges and excel in their professional journeys.”

    The Vice Chancellor hoped that the Department of Civil Engineering will organize more such visits in the future, providing students with hands-on experience and exposure to industry practices.

    Mr. Shabaz Ahmad Mirza (JKAS), Registrar and Dr. A A Shah , Associate Dean SoET lauded the efforts of the department for organizing the industrial visit. Principal College of Engineering and Technology Dr. Vishal Puri also congratulated the department for organizing a successful industrial visit.

    The students were accompanied by Dr. Pervez Alam, Coordinator of Civil Engineering, along with Assistant Professors Mr. Shahid Ul Islam and Mr. Zishan Aslam, and supporting staff. During the visit, the students engaged with NHPC professionals, gaining valuable insights into the operational and engineering aspects of hydroelectric power generation, thereby augmenting their theoretical knowledge.

    The Department of Civil Engineering extends its gratitude to NHPC for facilitating this educational visit and enriching the students’ learning experience.

    SRINAGAR NOV 24:-The work culture at Directorate of school education Kashmir, has come under scanner after they dropped 45 teacher grade III for conversion into teacher grade II
    Teachers accused that their files were submitted as per the Pro-forma of the Government before 2 years from concerned ZEO to CEO later on accepted by Directorate with all requisite documents as per the pro-forma, but it’s shocking to see that only 150 teachers were cleared for Conversion 45 teachers were dropped for lame excuse of wanting different documents which they have already submitted or there was no mention of such documents in pro-forma.

    One of the dropped teacher said in past held various Division level Screen Committee (DLSC) held at Directorate of School Education Kashmir there was no mention or need of Bonafide certificate neither Director School Education Jammu wanting the same , nor it’s required in the document list mentioned in pro-forma.

    In case such documents was need why didn’t directorate demand the same since 2 years as files were accepted by said office and were waiting for clearance.

    Another teacher said there is deep nexus of clerks and trade union leaders who are becoming source of agents of corruption from ZEO to CEO to directorate office.

    Teachers who don’t fulfill their demands  as bribe are being dropped for lame excuse so that they can come on the track of corrupt lines , she accused.

    Another Teacher said he has already submitted his degree certificate however according to observations of DLSC said certificate is pending.
    He said that the certificate was pending, why didn’t directorate sought the pending documents since 2years as the file were accepted by them and were pending for DLSC clearance.
